Hey all. As you may know I sold two boats this last year, my GT-150 & my Alumacraft fishing boat. So, those "voices in my head" to purchase another Glastron have been rather strong lately.  lol   This one followed me back to Branson MO where we are camping out. Pretty exciting yesterday getting on the water for the first time with it... runs strong, love the ride, and she's in pretty good shape. Only getting 45.9mph gps with Laser II 22p... maybe a 23 or 24p is in order? I'm guessing 5000 rpms are a little much, so I need to be careful.  Plan is to keep this one in the Ozarks here to use when in the area, which we plan to do a lot of this next year.  I think having an outboard is a good call with how we intend to use it, little winterization needed compared to inboard/outboard.

Nice looking 16.  45mph might seem a bit low in top speed at 5000 rpm.   That rpm might be high for an I/O, not certain if that is too high or just right for that particular outboard.  Prop testing is always a great excuse to be out in the sun!

GREAT score Mark !

I'm guessing 45 mph is off your speedo with a full tank and a few people in boat ?

I have same motor on my CV and getting about 52 to 54 MPH/GPS at 5200 to 5300 rpm's with just me in boat.
Full tank and a 200 lbs. passenger drops speed to about 50 MPH.
My speedo is hooked up to the motors pilot / speedo pick up and is almost the same as GPS readings, with in 1 mph.

Your motors max rpm's should not be more then 5250 rpm's, Merc put out a bulletin shortly after release of the 4 cyl. 115 HP motor, the 5500 rpm limit was breaking crank shafts.
If oil injection is still hooked up .. replace lines going from tank to pump and line coming out of pump. mine were original and cracked like glass when I was cleaning them.

Mine came with a 20P Laser II and was running about 48 to 50 mph / gps at about 5500 rpm's, think they used it for pulling tubes and skiers on a small lake.

Lift motor and get a Baystar !
… LOL

Thanks all.

Gregg... thanks for the data pics.  The 45.9mph was off of gps (I think speedo on dash was off a bit/slower, but will have to look closer next time out), two of us in boat, 1/3 tank of gas. I quit after a few seconds at 5,000-5,100 rpm's as I wasn't sure what the limit was, so might have been able to get a little more.  Good point about all the engine hoses/lines... will check them out!
