Wish I knew more about it ..
1&1 has pretty good tech support .. But don't understand one word he said to me.
My phone calls to them always start with .. "I don't know anything about this stuff !"

There's a 'main file' that the forum software reads to run.  It lists things like the database server name, connection info, where the web layer is installed, etc, etc.

It either disappeared again, or became corrupted. 

Super busy at work right now, but from the little digging I did do, we need another software upgrade.
