I don't know if this helps but I just happen to have some CV16 V8 gauges and switches in my suite case lol.

Good Picture.  Thanks.  Do you know what year CV that they are from?  Dose the V8 have Tilt & Trim or just Tilt?

I can't tell you if it had tilt and trim or not. But I do know that it was a '75.

As long as we're talking dash's and color, here is a picture of my next project. It's a 73 cv-16 outboard and the dash is differant than the rest of the 73's I've seen and the color is gray but I think it's just faded and the color of the boat is red flake. and I've heard red wasn't an option in 73. What do you guys think about this?

This is interesting. These are identical to my CV16SS Mercruiser. If these are truly off a CV16V8 they would have the Volvo drive then. So did some Volvo's have power trim?

Even more interesting. I'd guess it's a 76 not a 73 in that configuration.

Jason ...
His CV has parts from every year of CV ... LOL
His serial number is 1973

NES ...
Were you able to buy that dash on eBay ?

I like the older style dash better then the newer one that wraps around bottom, and that style should work on all newer CV's.
Under dash plastic, mine is flake.
With a blank dash you could space out gauges so you could fit a water pressure gauge and it would still look good.
I love the wood glove box door ... But mine has a textured finish, that vinyl won't stick to
Wondering what it would look like with the whole face of dash in burl wood ?

Is it a huge deal to make dash boards now that you have the mold ... or a quick lay it up ... pop it out ... done deal ?

Yes they came of a CV16V8 with the Volvo setup. It had a 280 outdrive.
And yes the 290 has power trim.
Here is another pic of my buddy's old '73 CV16SS (also Volvo 280).

It’s pretty easy to lay up the dash now that I have the mold made.  I’m going to make one In January for someone that has a 73 CV-16SS that I met on another Glastron forum.  They are going to make the switch Plates for me.
As for the wood on the glove box.  I used the original glove box door for it when I made that dash and it was textured.  I took the back off of it and wrapped it around the inside and then glued the back piece back in again.  It’s been a year with no issues.
I have been toying around with the Idea of putting real burled oak on the front of the glove box and where the gauges are on my dash.  I think that it would look great but; I am haunted by my efforts to keep it original so I don’t think that I will do that.

Yes I did get the one off eBay, the guy said it was off a 75, I've seen lots of 73 dash' and they all seem to be differant than the on e on mine that's why I'm trying to find out which one to use..I did get the boat from the original owner so I don t think it's been changed. I didn't think the color was an issue untill I found out it wasn't available on 73' . It does have all the trim of a 73 including the "jetsons" stern light.
