Title: Thru hull on a 23
Post by: Rosscoe on July 09, 2017, 11:25:03 AM
Has anyone installed GLM/Moore Performance thru hull on a 23, or anything for that matter. Just wondering if you had to make any mods to any of the components? It looks like I may have to shorten the inside portion of my tips. They are 5" from the flange in, minus transom thickness of 2" I'm not sure if there is room for the other 3"

I did manage to get it together without mods however, now I have some issues with the water intake hose, oil hoses and power steering hoses laying on the exhaust. :P

Ross what size tips did you order? can you send more pics. I am doing thru hull on mine. I bought 4 inch tips, wondering if they are going to fit.

Ok thanks if you are having a couple problems I mine lower, raise or move mine out a bit to try and avoid problems.

You're kinda limited. I did the starboard side first since that is the most crowded with the steering.  I wanted them as high as I could too but again, somewhat limited with the ells touching each other inside the hose. I didn't want to cut any of the stainless stuff and was able to avoid doing so. It might be a little easier if you don't put the oil filter relocating stuff on. It's 2 more hoses to deal with. I may be overly concerned because the exhaust isn't SUPPOSED TO get that hot but I ordered some high temp wrap for those and probably the trim hoses. I am extending the water intake hose  but may wrap that too, now that I found the wrap.

Also not sure if you're using the GLM Dennis Moore parts. That's what I have. Nice, but worth 600.00? I don't know. I did look around some and there are set ups that are twice the cost, so.....

I bought some Hardin Marine 4in tips with baffles  they were 100 each. Where did you get the polished 90 degree pipes? Dennis Moore
