Hello,

I haven't found a way to cross-check what props will fit a 140hp mercruiser in my internet searches. A few posts here reference that the laser II is a good match.  I found the following prop on craigslist and wanted to validate if this will work on the inboard drive.  It is a laser II 21p 48-16546 My goal is to get another couple mph out of the boat.  I do not pull tubes or skiers.  I am a bit confused since I see that the laser II is referenced as an outboard prop in some materials.

Info is below - link to craigslist ad - https://appleton.craigslist.org/bpo/d/mercury-laser-ii-pitch/6230827577.html -

I am currently running the vengence mercruiser stainless steel prop - 48-16318

That's funny, I'd like to try a Laser II 21P for my 140 too.  I've probably read the same threads you have...saying that's the best all around for us.

I had a big ear 23 on mine, changed to an aluminum 19, then settled on a aluminum 21, best all around prop for my 16 ss

If it's got the larger hub size it should fit the Mercruiser. I've tried a Laser II, they work pretty well. Ultimately I ended up choosing an old Quicksilver Stainless 23p (pre-Vengeance) for my boat with Mercruiser 3.7L.

$200 is a pretty good price.
Round hole vents and Flo-Torq  hub make it a newer version.
You could resell it on CL. easily, if you hate it.

You never know how well a prop will work until you try it ...

The 23p Laser II was the best performing prop on my CV16SS with a 140. Here are my results compared with different props.

Kind of depends on your hull as well. The laser II likes a fast hull.

Small hub (even number pitches) are for outboard
Large hub (odd number pitches) are for IO.
