For some reason the way I access IP adresses has changed, so I can't tell if new members are spammers.
I can make a guess but would rather not because it's kind of final if account is deleted.
I'm online by 3:00 every day ... So I'll delete as soon as possable ...

Thank you for looking after the website.
It is a skill I do not have. I spend hours a day trying to keep my personal computer running.
Remote technology support can cost up to $150 an incident.
I have finally found and use some very good (free) scanning programs.
Hope none of my viruses are finding a way on to you website.
So again Thank You for overseeing the web site!!!

Go here and get " Windows Defender "

Type in " Antivir " and down load .. " Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus ".
Uninstall your old anti virus and install.
Back to cnet.com type in .. " Malwarebytes "
Down load .. " Malwarebytes Anti-Malware "
Should keep your computer clean.

Yeah Malwarebytes is a good cleaning tool. It found a lot of junkk on my PC. Good anitvirus is important! There is a lot of junk out that that tags along with other junk and can slow things down or trash them. Last time I brought my PC in, it was because of something that got into my Registry and I could not get rid of it. Loaded some Chinese web page as my home Internet page. I had Norton at the time and dumped that. For one thing it is a huge resouce hog. Took a long time to load among other things. I mentioned Kaspersky to the geeks there because that is what we have at work and though they said that is good, they recommend what I have now (and bought from them, of course) ESET NOD32. They said it was rated it #1. I have been very happy with it. Runs in the background hardly ever disrupting anything.

What works for me ...
Biggest threat is the "Windows anti virus" trojan, it changes names and ways it get in every other week.
It rode in on a Java hole about 3 weeks ago, Java put out two updates to fix it ...
Malwarebytes is an easy fix for it, if you don't have it installed and get this trojan you will need to boot into "Safe Mode" (turn on computer and start tapping F8) to install it.
The free version of Malwarebytes need to be manualy updated and run, but isn't that bad to do.
I do mine every other day.

Superantispyware is another good free antimalware program as is Windows Defender.
You can load as many malware programs as you like but you should only have one antivirus program running, I've seen some with two and three antivirus programs and start ups take for ever ...

Tool bars (Google, Yahoo, My Web, etc.) are a online and resourse hog, if you use them fine, if not goto "Add remove programs" in control panel and delete. For Vista/Win7 users goto "Programs & Features" in Control panel to uninstall.
Google tool bar sneaks in on Adobe reader and flash installs and have seen Yahoo on others ...I think Java ...
Google Chrome is a pretty cool browser, give it a try if your not already useing it ...

Internet Explorer seems a bit safer now but if not set up right can be very slow.

When I got my Dell laptop it booted with 64 processes, after a fresh format and reinstall I'm down to 24 processes !
Most were Dell programs but some were Microsoft stuff I don't use (Silverlight, Live Essentals, MSN stuff).
If you do a "Control - Alt - Delete" ( in Vista/Win7 then select "Start Task Manager") and select "Processes"tab you can see whats running on your computer, then Google each process to see what it is. If unsure just leave it, if you know you don't need it uninstall it or goto Administative tools/Services and tell it to "Manualy" start instead of "Automatic" that way it's still there when you need/use program.
Any thing "Trial Ware" like Microsoft Office 30 day trial can be uninstalled to free up disc space.
HP/Compaq are the worst for trial ware stuff and processes running, I've seen new HP laptops booting with 84 processes...
Add a HP printer and bet you could top 100 precesses ...LOL
iTunes/Quicktme start with your computer, both can be taken out of start up and set to start when a app. needs them.
If your running Windows XP you need to "log in" if you don't, you have an "Administrative log in" and malware has an easier time getting in and messing stuff up, Vista/Win7 fixed the problem ...
Any thing you download from a file sharing program (Bearshare, Limewire, Kazaa) should be scanned before exe./playing !
Apple/Mac users quit laughing ...

We have 127 new members this month ...
And thats not counting the 17 that get blocked ...PER DAY !
Of the 127 , only one made a post about Glastrons ...
Some ones been combing the members profiles ... so if your email spam increases, ya know were it's coming from ...

Ok... I've turned up the security on our site. This is not to regulate our members, but to provide an added level of security for the respectable people that care to be part of our group.
At this point, any person wishing to join us must be approved by one of the 3 moderators (myself included) before they can post on our forum.
We will give this a trial and see if it proves to be helpful to our team and our club.

Found some things I would like to try, to keep spammers out, were getting close to 200 a month.
I have forum backed up so if I blow it up I can recover it ... MAYBE ...LOL

I posted some stuff on Craigslist and on one listing I got an email telling me I had a personal message from CL.
Not thinking I clicked on the link ... It was a page asking for my user name and password just like my account on CL looks.
Got about half way through typing my user name in and stopped ....
I've never heard of PM's on CL !
So went into CL and looked around and couldn't find anything about sending people PM's ...
Searched IP and URL of link and found some stuff about them tring to steal CL accounts.
Last week some big email place lost millions of email addresses ... Be careful and don't trust any one online ...
Banks, credit cards companys, etc. etc. will never send you anything asking for personal info in emails.
If they do ... It aint' them !
TRUST NO ONE ONLINE !

Similar situation happened to me on a CL ad TODAY Gregg. Said they read my listing, wanted me to respond, within the email was a pics of what looked like the CL sign in window. A little voice in the back of my head started screaming "don't do it", LOL
Another response by text to my cel phone, wanting me to send more info to an email address. I sent some info about the ad, no personal info. Then a similar window appears wanting login info, BYE!
Third inquiry just looked bogus to start with, so I deleted it immediately. Kinda disheartening that the crooks have ruined a previously good way to buy, sell, and trade stuff. :-[
