Title: SPLASH!
Post by: MarkS on August 12, 2012, 04:40:54 PM
Well, it didn't sink!  Seriously, more fun than I had imagined, but it's going to take some getting used to.....

You were right David (of course, you are the PropMaster!) the 13.75X22P Laser is PERFECT.  A sincere thank you for your consultation, and the very fair price on the prop!  (I'd imagine WOT is about 5500, the violent chine walk kicks in at around 5300 with some left to go!)  Unconfirmed (no GPS today) speed at around 52 mph, the thing gets crazy at 53 mph but still has more in it if I can figure out how to settle her down.  I'm not too worried about going faster right now, but ya know how we are....... ;D

That boat looks great, 50 plus and more left? How much horsepower?

Congratulations Mark on an outstanding completed project. I like everything - the color combination of the boat, the fact that everything looks new, the functional instrument panel, the trailer - everything. Glad I could play a small part with the prop selection of the OMC Raker 22". Believe Mark has a 115 HP Johnson.

Very cool Mark. Glad to see you get that baby wet. I bet that felt dang fast, especially with no windscreen.

Thanks guys, your kind words mean a lot to me.  It's far from "show quality", definitely a 10 footer (at least).  All those hours of sweat and itching are finally paying off.  I'll spend the rest of the season learning about the much different handling characteristics, and hope to complete the interior this winter.  Believe me, if I had the gas money I'd be joining you this weekend!  (The Glastron Classic is number one on my bucket list once the boat is finally finished all the way.)  Maybe next year it will work out........I hope.
