Title: SOLD 1977 CVX 18 Orange/ white $8000 Gone and Missed already SOLD
Post by: fireman24mn on September 09, 2013, 09:49:32 AM
1977 CVX 18. There is many pics of the boat on here and Facebook. The rebuild thread is on this site and shows what has been done to the boat.( http://forum.cgoamn.com/index.php?topic=2962.0 (http://forum.cgoamn.com/index.php?topic=2962.0) ) The floor and transom are original but no soft spots in the floor. Has a Ford 302 with about 280-290 hp and has about 50 hrs on it. Top speed is 60 mph. Interior is all new wood, vinyl, and foam last year.  New paint as well! Cd player with USB to hook up any I-pod or other device. Has wired remote by the driver seat to control radio,CD, i-pod, etc. Depth finder mounted threw hull. Just shows depth no graph.  Some pics show it without rub rail but it has it in now. Lower unit was replaced this year and has all new seals. Thur hull exhaust. Boat is turn key and ready to go. Runs great and is used regularly. Always covered when not in used. Pictures do not do the boat justice and looks even better in person.

Please call or email me with questions or a time to set up a showing. Lake is about 1 mile from my house for any test drives. Test drives for serious buyers only. $8,000  listed higher on other sights but discounted for anyone on here.     Lawyer needs more money.

How about 80 monthly payments of $100 ?? That gives you full asking price. LOL. Good luck with the sale, it is my favorite boat on the site. Must be an Orange thing.. ;D

Shawn, that wasn't nice, you teased me so early in morning.............went to play the video and it says the video is private. Every time I look at your boat, I question going through the whole process of doing CVZ right now and wonder if I should just pony up and buy yours seeing it is exactly what I want anyway. You have any need at all for the 302 that is in it? I would want to install the small block I am building. Let me know on that.

Sorry I changed it from private to public

No I really wouldn't have any use for the engine.

I just showed my wife the pictures and video of your boat. She loves it!! Maybe it isn't such a crazy idea after all. She actually said "why don't you get rid of that thing on the side of the house and buy that?" I think we may end up talking.

Maybe someone can chime in on how difficult it would be to swap in the small block chevy in this and take the Ford 302 out. Not sure if that is an easy swap or not.

To just drop in a 350 you would just need the rear transom shield/ flywheel cover. At least I am pretty sure that is all you would need. Boat will also come with the needed parts to add power steering. And if motor is already out then that should be easy.

Shawn,

I literally went outside by myself yesterday and assessed the CVZ project. Call me crazy but I felt like I was thinking about taking a pet to get put down with the thought of abandoning the project. Over the last year I have invensted to much time effort and thought into parts and planning to back out on her now. I am going to stick with what I have and build her just like I have it planned in my head. Your CVX is still my favorite boat of all time. Hopefully I can come close in final product as you did with Agent Orange.

No problem Rich.

The boat is pending sold as the video I made was for a guy in OK. I talked to him this morning and it sounds like we have a deal now just have to get the details worked out.

If that makes your decision any easier.

Dang! I wanted that boat and you sold it on my birthday.  :(

If you ever decide to sell this boat send me a PM.

Thanks, Jim

I guess it for the best. My garage is full(I need to sell my '81 Scrambler and my '74 Mini) and I have a new house/shop/barn to build.

Beautiful boat though! Congrats on the sale!

You can always paint the CV-23 orange!  (Call her 'Orange Juiced' b/c there's a BFEngine in it...)  I think you'll miss her a little bit less then.  :D

I know that flake on that boat was bright but never thought it would have literally hurt your eyes! Be more careful next time Shawn!
