Title: CVX Seat Teardown
Post by: Glastronjohn18 on October 21, 2013, 09:27:58 PM
While some of you are winterizing your crafts and celebrating the end of the boating season I have been out in the garage working on my Glastron.
It seems as if winter is the only time I have to work on it. I've taken one of the seats out of the '78 CVX 18 and tore it down to make patterns from.
I took pictures but I put them in slide show form. Let's see if this works.
Just click on the picture to take you to You Tube .

Brandon, I remember you were interested in seat patterns. I PMed you.

You really wouldn't have know they were so rotten looking at them with the upholstery on. Will you be sewing new covers for them or having it done?

Mike, not sure what you are looking at. All I see is a seat but yes it's from my CVX, not the Gold '80 but a silver "78 I got several weeks ago.
See my thread.

Ross, Rotten is not the word, when I took the seat out of the boat the back fell off! The wood around the screws was completely gone. I'll have them recovered . There is an upholstery shop I know through my Hot Rod buddies that does Superb work. Think Show Cars and Hot Rods.
I worked in an upholstery shop after high school but I never got around to sewing anything other than the welting.
