Hey everybody! My wife and I are new owners of a 1979 CVX16 and of course I had to find this forum! I have always wanted a CVX and needed a small one to fit the garage. And we got lucky enough to find one that needed a little work and was inexpensive. The bonus was it matches our towing car (1995 Caprice wagon) and you should see the heads turning when we take it out to a lake! Not many boaters out there with a matching car/boat combo!
Anyways it has a 90hp Tower Of Power Mercury that ran ok, only to find out all the wiring was burned up. A short developed from rubbing the ignition box so I re-wired the whole thing and it runs great! Needs a bit of TLC here and there, but that's part of the plan.
We are trying to make plans to be at TI in August, so I hope to meet many of you there and talk boats! We are very new to this so any info would be new info to us.

Sounds like a nice Glastron, hope to see it. The Merc TOP's seem to have an issue with wire rot, we just did the same wiring on Makinwaves GT. Welcome to the group, likely your a neighbor to Joe and Laurie, and more likely you will see them on the river if you spend any time there.

Sounds like you found a boat that fits your needs and is a classic to go with the caprice.
Hope to meet up with you on the river some time this summer otherwise sea you in August.

Ok, that probably sounds like we're lurking in the bushes. But Joe's wiFe (me) always sends glastron sighting pics to him :-)

Welcome! The CVX16 is a fun little boat and easy to tow anywhere. You'll love it. Hope to see you on the water soon.

That is very cool, Laurie sent me a picture of the CVX a week or so ago I've been going to come over and invite you. If you peer through the trees at the back of your yard you'll be able to see our three Glastron's in the field back there. Stop over anytime to BS or if you need something.

Sweet! So we're neighbors? I will swing by some evening after work and bs for a bit. I'm usually in the garage/driveway working on something so you can walk up anytime you see me out there as well.
