Title: New Member Advice request...
Post by: Hoop on May 23, 2018, 09:43:00 PM
Hello, I just acquired what I believe is a 1972 Glastron V153 Aqualift from my father in law. I have many pictures of it and am wondering if there is a market for it. I'm not interested in restoration. It seems to be in pretty good shape.  I'd hate to scrap it but not sure what it's worth to sell if anything at all. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I owned a 1971 V-153 for 41 years. Bought it new in 1971 and sold it in 2012. The V-153 hull is very well designed to cut waves and is a fast hull. With a 80 HP Merc I could hit 44 MPH and with a 115 Merc about 53 MPH. The V-153 is not as sporty as the CVX's and may be harder to sell. How are the flooring and seats? I had to reupholster the seats and carpet the floors. Sold it for $3,200, but every thing was in top condition. The buyer was sold on the boat knowing it needed nothing and was impressed with the test drive on the lake.

The photos you shared definately show even just the basic glastrons were very classy and sporty boats.  Must be why we like them so much.
