Update for 07/07/10...

We have 55 people registered.  There are quite a few people that haven't sent me their registrations so they are not on the list yet.  I don't have to have your registration money right away, but I do need that e-mail with your information, so that I can have a good picture of how many people we will need to make room for.

As of right now, the weather for the meet is supposed to be GREAT!  :)  So tell your friends, get those e-mails to me, and plan for a great weekend!

Update #2

Funny thing, but Margi from Island Campground called me this morning.  She was asking how many sites we thought we needed.  I think that we are going to have a larger group than last year, but as I mentioned earlier, it's a little hard to tell.

At this point, we do have 10 sites to ourselves with 3 of them being newly re-designed sites on the river.  These 3 will be reserved for those of you bringing RV's.

We have more sites than last year, but I need to know if it's enough room.  Thanks for letting me know!

I'll be camping in the tent that mounts on the Avalanche...so not sure if I'm an RV or a Tent, just need electricity.  Brian - You should see my PayPal $ for the site, so I should be all set...let me know if my math is off.

You can do anything that you like.  It's fully up to you.  I would recommend staying over on Saturday night as that's when we have the big cookout.

I have a 24 I am planning on bringing up and hope to find a new home for.  You are welcome to try that one.  It was on a 150 Mariner stapled to the back of a bass boat I used to have.  Was not doing much fishing at the time but sure had fun going for beer!

If that mariner is a 150 v-6 that 24p wont fit, v-6 outboards use a bigger gear case than Rosscoe's 100hp. I do have a 20p laser2 ss you can try if you like.

I'll try any of them if they fit. I think David suggested I try your lazer Steve so that would be good. I do think a 24 would be too much. Need to find that right mix. Since I was turning 5400 rpm (400 too much and I dont do that anymore) with Jims 21, I think those rpms were going to waste? Oh well different thread.

Steve, would that fit on a stern drive?

Brian:
Just a quick question. What can I bring this year as far as food, drinks, paper goods etc?   I will be there Friday morning and would like to contribute to the group.
Last year I did paper goods. I can easily do that again.  Or more. Just let me know.
Also, I will bring a bunch of T shirts to give away. Sort of like what we did last year.
Take Care,
Andy

Yeah thats something to think about..so we dont end up with too much of this or that. Unlike last year, I dont think I want to keep potatoe salad, slaw or anything else like that in the cooler friday afternoon and all day Sat. not too fresh!
Might be a better plan to head over to a Red Wing grocery store after our day out on Sat.

Andy,
I love your ideas!  I think that the paper goods and disposables is a great addition, and I would be thankful if you did that again!  The t-shirts are great!!!  The one that you brought me last year is the nicest one that I have, and it's holding up very well!  Thanks again for that!

I think that I'm going to put out a list of the things that we can use as the weeks get closer.  I am going to privide potato wedges and fried chicken for staurday evening, so the rest can be pot luck (bring a dish to pass).  Things like italian dressing based pasta salads and green salads and vegetables will be great in the coolers.  Mayo based things like potato salad and cole slaw might not hold as well as Rosscoe said.

Lunch and breakfast items will be needed as well!  I know that we already have some great breakfast breads on the way, but again, we might have as many as 100 people at the event.

As far as the #'s we have seen in the past, we usually have about 30-45 people with us for breakfast on Saturday morning.  Lunch will be on your own as we will be gathering for the river run.  We have had 50-60 for dinner on Saturday, and Sunday morning is down to that 30-40 again.  Of course there are a great deal of more people that attend the event, but as far as the ones that are active and present in the campground, it's slightly less.

I think that the best thing to consider is for everyone to bring a variety of things that they enjoy, and try not to rely too heavily on the things like potato chips and snack food.  Fresh vegetables, fruit, and those things will help to lighten the sugar and fat that we tend to eat a lot of (me included).

I'll try to send out a suggestion list in the coming weeks!

Couple questions about the meet before I commit to a spot. What kind of things are going on for the kids to do? I have a 3yr old and a baby that will be about 5months that I would have to bring if we come out to the meet. Next, what would the cost be all in all for me, my wife, and the kids with a slip if they are still available? I am still trying to talk the wife into it so I got to get some close numbers to run by her before she will give me the go ahead (keep telling her it will be a cheap vacation as we are less than 3hrs away).

Hi there!  The cost for tent or RV camping for the weekend plus a slip for the boat is $94.  There is a small playground and sand box very close to the tents.  There have been a few children in our group in the past, so it's totally a judgement call for you.  We try to be as family oriented as we can.  You and your family are certainly welcome!

Ok Brian: I have a pretty good feel for it after last year. Put me in for plates, bowls, plastic cups, and plastic utensils. I will bring napkins too.  I will be comuting back and forth from the Hotel so I can pick things up as needed too.  But I will show up Friday am with all of the above.
Can't wait!!

Hey Everyone...
I just heard that Bob Probst is bringing the white CV-21 Twin Jet again this year.  Not only that, but he has two sons that each have a CV-21 as well.  All three of the probst cv-21's will be joining us!

I wish I could make it this year but with the birth of our second son in July I couldn't get the time off in August. I really want to see that CV-21 with two jet drives in action. I know it was supposed to be there the last time I was in, in 2008. Hopefully I will be able to make it more often than every four years. Take lots of pictures and video for me.

Curtis.

P.S. Has anyone seen Hydro Thunder (Jesse) lately? I would really like to see his boat now that he has it refinished. A ride in his a 80mph jet boat would be cool to.
