Hi Curtis!  I talked to someone who was just asking about you today!  Hopefully we can get you down here soon.  I haven't talked to Jesse this year, but I saw him a few times last season.

Hope to see you soon!

UPDATE...

I just got back from Island Campground and everything is looking great for the weekend.  Bob and Margi designated another space for us since as of right now we have 86 people confirmed with their reservations.  I expect we will see 20-30 more people who have not connected with me.

As of now, we have 10 campsites.  7 in the grass (we had 5 last year) and 3 full sites on the river for the RV's.  We have a huge amount of space this year.  We have room in the slips for about 30 boats when we pack them in tight.

Just as a comparison, we had 64 reservations last year, and 96 people showed up.  We already have 86 confirmed for this year...  It's going to be big!

We walked through the campground this afternoon, and several people came up to us saying "Aren't you the Glastron people???  We have been waiting for your weekend!"  Quite a buzz going on down there about us!

I agree with you all on the ear plug thing...  I'm going to bring some ear plugs and a bottle of sleeping pills.  That's the only drawback to the campground.  Maybe we will all end up in Gary Vetvic's RV!

I just talked to Bob from Madison, the guy bringing the breakfast breads.  He said he will be bringing plenty of bread to accomodate the larger crowd expected at this year's meet.  Bob and DeeAnn, and myself, have rooms reserved at the AmericInn in Red Wing.  Anyone else staying there during the meet?

I think that there are, but I'm not certain of the names.

Tell them thanks for the bountiful breads!

Hey guys, I finally got off the fence and am making plans to go!  I'm psyched and can't wait to meet you guys and see all the boats.

I'm not going to be able to pull the V-166 all the way from San Antonio TX though, I finally sat down and did the cost analysis and considered time off work, etc.... it's just not feasible for me right now.   However, I am getting ready to book tickets to join you for the long weekend.  I'm wondering about a few things...
- I'm planning to get there Thursday afternoon, so I made reservations for the Nichols Inn, in Red Wing for Thur, Fri & Sat nights (19, 20 & 21 Aug? just so I don?t mess up the dates  :)), if anyone else is planning to stay there.  Good hotel?  I tried the AmericINN, but they no longer had a room for all 3 nights.
- I'm assuming folks will be getting to the campground starting Friday, at all times throughout the day depending on their situation, and will be setting up camp, getting boats in, trying to get dinner on, etc.  So... there is no set time for me to plan to get there, but what would you recommend?  I'll probably be there early Friday morning anyway.  I would be happy to assist anyone who needs help with launching boats, etc.   Please let me know.
- If you have an "informational" email that has been sent out, can I get that... i.e. I understand dinner Sat is planned to be together, etc., just so I know of all planned activities.
- Brian, let me know what I owe you for Sat dinner or other activities, and let me know what I can do to help out.

I?ll be taking lots of pictures & HD video that you can have copies of, of course, and will assist in any way I can.  I need a button that says? ?Official? Classic Glastron Boat Rider ?Will Ride for Free?.  ;D haha.  I actually have a T-shirt that says ?My boat doesn?t run on Thanks?.

Can?t wait, just a few weeks away.
I?ll have my cell on me? 210-601-9914

I'll have plenty of room in the CVZ-19, you're welcome to ride with me, you'll also have quite a few 'rides' to choose from...so yeah, its kind of cool to pick your ride...

This thread pretty much has all the email's that Brian has sent out. Just start from the beginning. Really glad you are making it. Nice to see people coming from all over the country for this event. That's great you will be taking some HD video too!

It's actually better to come without a boat. You get the chance to experience all the boats by riding in them! This year should be similiar to last year. The only time we ask everyone to be together is the time we take off for the trip down the river as a group. Usually about noon on Saturday. So just be there by then. Most people do arrive on Friday but it's more of a hang out day. Overall the meet is not very structured and is very relaxed and family friendly!

yep, 2 weeks to go.

That great news Mark !
Can't wait to meet ya in person.
See ya Friday, early afternoon.
Can't offer ya a ride because I'll have Sara and Jake, but you'll have way cooler boats to choose from.
You'll have the time of your life !

Mark!  I'm so very excited that you are joining us!  That makes 9 states that are going to be represented at our meet!  WOO HOO!

There will be a few of us at the campground on Thursday.  I'm going to be hauling all my stuff in throughout the day, and then I'll be staying the night on Thursday as well.  I think that Red and Andy (from California) will be in town too.  Red will be at the campground, and Andy and his son will be at a hotel on Thursday night.  With that said, there will be a few boats and a few people on Thursday for you to connect with.

On the CGOAMN website, there is a tab for  "annual meet".  There is a good deal of information there about the campground, the schedule, and some great photo's of past events.  Here is a link to the schedule.  http://www.cgoamn.com/75.html.

Very important that everyone be in a boat by 10:45am on Saturday morning.  We will be adding a boat parade past the public park in Red Wing between 11:00am and 11:30am.  It will be advertised in the Red Wing and St. Paul papers that we are gathering, and the public can view the boats from the park on Saturday morning.  We won't be stopping, but I would like to have a huge line of 60-70 boats going past the park that morning!

Anyone can e-mail me directly with questions at cgoamn@yahoo.com

HAPPY BOATING!

Thanks all, can't wait to meet you guys in person as well.  Doran, I'll take you up on that... appreciate it!  Ya, can't wait to see what it's like to ride in/see the differences first hand of a number of these great rigs.  That's ok Gregg, glad you got the family coming out with ya.  Maybe next year I can plan our trip a little better, save some more mad money, and Sandy and I can join with the boat!  If I don't get in too late Thursday, I'll try to run out to the park to say hello or maybe I'll see some of you around the hotel?

Trains are cool but do they have to blow their horn ALL NIGHT! I know, I know...they do at intersections. Quite obnoxious.
