I been wanting to see how the motor in the Scimitar is doing inside, with 108 hours on it, so I pulled it out a few days ago, took it apart and it looked good, just been running a little rich, just a little carbon in the pistons, the valves were a little dark, but still brown, I put in a new set of rings and bearings, new gaskets, and I changed the carborator to a stock 600cfm Edlebrock, set the timing back a few degree's so I can run pump gas, 91 0ctane. When I get the 87 octane I can just add a little Lucas octane booster and be just fine.
I took it out to the lake today and it run good, but the carb and timing down-size cost three miles per hour, but it still runs 68 by the gps, I Liked the 70's but it cost a bunch to mix the gas, and kinda a pain when we took it out of town, anyway, it's back in the water, and gettin ready for the trip
