Time to share...lost my Dad today.
« on: October 08, 2010, 09:33:07 PM »
Sad to say, but I lost the biggest classic glastron fan & Goldie cheerleader in my life today.  It was a complete shock and surprise since he has always been very healthy, and had nothing going on to indicate there were any issues.

But...I know he felt his life was complete, his task list all checked, and took great pride in his family.  He read these boards daily as a guest.  He was supposed to come with for the 2010 meet, but it didn't work out this year.

I miss my Dad tremendously.  He's been our family's anchor, our immovable rock.

Doran, my deepest sympathy for you and your family upon the sudden death of your father. One is never prepared for the loss of a loved one, and especially when it is quick and unexpected. Remember the memories of your father, talk to him and thank him for the things he did for you and the family. My visit to my mom the day before her death, talking and thanking her, helped ease the sorrow and bring closure. Also talking about her many virtues after her death with my brother and sister brought release.

I will be praying for you.

Very sorry to hear that Doran. There really are not any words anyone can say to help ease the pain. Its been 14 months since my dad died and I still find myself thinking about him a lot. He was not healthy for awhile so it wasnt so sudden which I think makes it a bit easier.
You just never know when its your time.
Thankfully, you have your family for support.

Very sorry to hear of your loss Doran, my condolences my friend.  That's extra tough when it's unexpected, but like stated it's never easy.  I just got back from Alabama, we buried my wife's mother today.  (She had been going down hill for a while, so we knew it was coming sooner than later.)  That makes three, hopefully this will be the end of it for a while!  It's been over ten years since I lost my Dad, and I still think about him all the time.  That's a tough one buddy, just know that we're here for you if you need us.

Man .... so sorry to hear that.  Miss my dad too. Every time I get in a boat he is in there with me though.  Take you dad along with you everyday in some way.  Everything they teach us and everything we enjoyed. My Dad was a Glastron dealer at one point.  Always dreamed of making that a reality for myself too but the days of the Glastron of that era exist in our club ....... both mine and his appreciation live on.
