Boy that looks pretty sitting in there! 8) Nice job Red! I'd love to have a console for my CVX18 as currently there is no place to put a cell phone, car keys, wallet, all those things I've learned to keep out of my pockets when I boat.

Well done, but the big question is how fast do you think it will go?

::)  all I told Barb  is that I'll bet it will go as fast as she want's to drive it.
that motor pushed my Scimitar mid 70's, she will be running the same prop, same ratio drive, a lighter boat with 3 1/2 feet less hull in the water ... I'm wondering myself how fast it will go.

I got the exhaust tubes installed today, with the 4" to 3" reducers, and I had to modify the spark arester to clear the engine cover, that was a trick, I set the engine cover on it and it will clear, it's close, but it does clear.  I used the camara for eye's up in there.

Red you're right about it going to be fast enough. The sweet spot I bet will be about 3500 r's, my guess would be mid 40's mph of economical cruising, just purring along.

you may be right Glenn, when it was in my boat, with a load of gas and a couple people the top of the primaries was 3000 rpm, I cruised the boat @ 2800 trimed up it was cruising 34 / 35 mph and using 5 gallon an hour, thats how I run it on the Arkansas river trips, one trip 75 miles and the other was 120 miles.

Red are you changing the gears in Barb's drive? I'd imagine the standard 23P prop or whatever she had on it before the transplant won't work any longer. Jeff got a heck of deal on a 25P Laser for his boat that he is gonna try this summer.

I'm giving her the prop that I been running on the Scimitar, it was a 23 pitch before it made a few trips to the lab,  but it's a solid 24+ pitch I think, I think it will work for her, and I think it will come up to rpm, even though it will be 3" deeper in the water, the boat is shorter and lighter ... we will see.  Her drive was a 1.50 ratio, thats what the Alpha One is.

Good compression from a motor with "tight" tolerances can be heard in the exhaust note! Get it! ;D

5000 RPM and 7% prop slip will put it right at 70.5 MPH. I'm guessing at the slip number but 7% is considered pretty good.

I've try'd to figure out the prop slip calculator charts, and just give it up, this prop holds more water than any prop I ever run.  I do know this ... my Scimitar was turning 5200, possibly nearer 5300, cool water and mild chop, the gps indicating 73.2 mph, up there in RedWing, it seemed to be running better than that, with 20 degree cooler water, and more humidity.  With the gps indicating 73.2 the speedo was covering up the M at the bottom ... kinda cool lookin at that.

Red those stats give about 9%(.09) slip on your Scimitar plugging in 5300 RPM and 73 MPH. Sounds about right. Here's the link I used. Kind of fun to plug the numbers in and play around with!
