Beautiful Red! Maybe you mentioned this once before but is that a transom assembly for a Gen 1 or Gen 2 drive?

Thanks Guy's, I been enjoying this project.  It's an Alpha One drive set-up, not the Gen II, but I believe it will last Barb a long time, I'll see that the lube is changed frequently in this baby. I got an apointment this Friday to take both of our lower units to the shop and have them inspected, weld the nose mod on her's, and I know mine needs a shim added to it, so when we get some decent weather we can take her boat to the lake for a shakedown run.

Alpha Gen 1 or 2, either way a night and day difference in durability over what was on it. In addition, now she has a drive w/negative trim which will give the boat better holeshot & less bow rise when coming onto plane.

Outstanding Red! Looks great. I really like the idea of modding the boxes to accomodate the battery, etc. Like the non-intrusive speaker panels too. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Carry on.

Thanks again Guy's.   I can see this baby beginning to come together.  I got the t/trim pump, blower motor and power steering slave mounted today.  I glassed in a little 6" X 9" bracket under the starboard gunwale, aside the rear seat, to mount a battery isolation switch, the start battey will be mounted right behind the seat there, we have decided to mount a second battery up front, behind the little center console, this battery will run the stereo system, the amp will be mounted in the bilge area on top of the port box. No pictures tonight, I used my camara battery for the multi-meter ..  :-/

We are looking at getting the wiring finished up tomorrow, installing the motor Wednsday, today was kinda a slack day, there have been several of those, but, thats alright,  ain't no deadline to meet for this project.

Yes, the boat is certainly better than new now, it should last as long as I will ..  :D

It's about ready for the motor, just a couple more hours laying up the wiring, then the Transplant, we're planning on setting the motor in tomorrow after noon, well, I guess it's this afternoon now.
Barb bought a roller bearing slide in and out thing for the battery .. kinda Kool.

Very nice Red! How does the sliding battery shelve lock back in place? Are you installing a Kicker Subwoofer? I noticed the Kicker thing. maybe that's something else.

We are gonna have to make sure we Archive this thread. Way too much valuable information in this one!

Here's a question I've had...why are the trim pump lines colored differently?  Its the same on Goldie...assume one signifies a return line?

Fantastic! I love the sliding battery tray too. What a great way to access that space. Needless to say, its going to be laid out in a very practical, neat, compact way.

There is not going to be much room above the engine below the cover is there!

Barb noticed that too,  I will have to modify the spark arrestor base some to lower the back of the cover, I never thought about this intake manifold havig a higher rise than the stock manifold, but ! .. ain't  no spep for a steper.
I told Barb all we had to do is cut a big hole in the engine cover, maybe put a Snorkle on it ...  :o  yea, she wouldn't go for that.

I do plan on popping a mold off the engine cover, and the center console while I have those things off,  she did go for that, I think there are a couple boats out there that need an engine cover like that ... maybe mine,  and that little console will fit in a lot of the other boats, it hangs from the bottom of the dash, and braced to the kick panel, it don't reach the floor..
