Identify this broken part.

I'll give ya a hint. It's the business end of the lil plastic handle incorporated in the throttle control that you pull up on to shift out of neutral.

Shoved away from the dock today, went to put her in fwd, & it snapped off under my fingers. Hmm. What to do now. Discovered that by pinching & pulling up on the remaining stub it'd still allow you to shift gears. So we went for it! Heh heh

Not to worry I gotta backup control box around here, somewhere ...

You can find those at most of the online parts houses for around $10.  I just ordered one a few weeks ago for my 1980 model control box. Mine wasn't broken, just faded out so I wanted to spiff it up a bit.

www.lmmarine.com has this example. SKU: 0323770 SLIDE,Neutral lock   $8.72 (for a 1980) I'm pretty sure these pieces fit several years of control boxes. They should have what you're looking for.
