Well after replacing my 2yr battery that lasted two years and two days. The boat wouldn't fire. So naturally I pulled the cover and started poking around. Yanked the plugs, looked good. Checked gap, shuffled em around & put em back in. Was about to go round up a neighbor to help me check for spark but got the bright idea to check the kill switch. Don't ask me how but that dang thing was pulled just enough to break contact. Reset the clip and boom! She fired right up. Duh!
I've known since numb nuts mounted the motor the controls weren't adjusted right. Got lucky and ran into a buddy at Snake Island who's an OMC OB guru. In return for a liquid bribe he agreed to have a look. Soon as we pulled the cover he said yikes! This is wrong & that's wrong, etc. However with the use of only a slotted screwdriver & small crescent wrench. He made the necessary adjustments. Took her back out, with him onboard and holy crap! Was definitely not getting WOT before!
He wouldn't admit it but think I skeered him a lil flyin the bow in the ditch. I noticed he had a white knuckle grip with his right hand on the oh sh*t handle and his left was clamped to the windshield frame ... Anyway he told me to order new bushings for the linkage & then he could really dial it in. As it stands I did not have my GPS on board but the boat feels and sounds like it's about 10mph faster ... Heh heh heh
