Buffing compounds
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:58:08 PM »
The 3M rep stop by my home this evening with 6quarts ea of the heavy duty compound and Finesse-itII.

Approx $500 in materials also asked or begged for more foam pads. Compounds to last a life time.

So anybody needing to shine up there boat we have supplies.

Just get ahold of me we have abox of supplies to pass around and use. Have a hard time squeezing Gregg in the box.

But as time will allow I will be willing to help.

Didn't know that.  Guess Barry made enough $ off "Car Crazy" and decided to retire?  At least with 3M being the new owners, we shouldn't have to worry about the quality of their product declining!   :)

I wish you were closer Jeff.   That CV23 that I bought about a month ago could sure use a good buffing and waxing.  The finish is in really good shape, it was barn kept, but it needs that finishing touch to bring out the deep orange sun light sparkle.  Any suggestions on what to use when I buff it out in the spring.  Also does anyone have suggestions for the windshield, it is crazed and I think it will need to be wet sanded, but arent there finishing products for that as well.

Sounds like someone is ready to put their 6 Million Dollar shoulder to work.  Did it come with a buffing attachment?   ;D

Barb

Plan on bring your cv23 up around the end of May and picking it back up say around the middle of September should be enough time to clean and buff, don't you think Gregg.

Also could possibly take care of the detailing  of the interior .

I could meet you somewhere in the middle in June, maybe Lake Rathbun in Iowa.  Oh yea Doran says bring Burnin Daylight instead of the CV23.  I think he wants to see who comes with the fastest boat, Jeff what do you think?  Are you spending any $$$ over the winter for another mph.  :-*

I'm thinking this spring will be a good time to do this to mine for the first time. I'm thinking the avocado green should be a little darker than it appears today and according to the brochure it should be white, not off white!

Should be an easy job Josh ...
I think all Glastron's white was a kind of off white, my 72 V-156 was an off white,  But should shine up nice !

I think Greg is right, I thought my Starflite should have buffed out white also, but did some looking on Iboats and the gelcoat they have listed under the year of 1975 is off white.
