I saw this picture from the Tsunami devastation in Japan and was blown away by it.

It boggles the mind when you think about how much devastating power all that water has.

Yikes!

The tide level had to be over 30 feet high to neatly lift and place that boat atop the two-story building. I doubt there's much if any damage to the boat. Amazing!

I do have the "after pic" of the property when most of the cleanup had been done, none of the boat though:

It's amazing the building survived when all around it were lost. Especially with that behemoth on top of it!

"If it was a glastron I bet someone from here would have taken a look at it to see if it could be fixed". LOL, yeah we probably would have!

A friend that lived just east of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina saw his house on the news about a week after the flooding and there was a 23 foot center console bay boat with a 225 Yamaha hanging off of his 2nd story balcony. The first 8 feet of the boat and trailer were in his daughters bedroom and perfectly centered through the french doors. No one ever claimed it so he kept it and has been fishing with it ever since.

When the boat registration office asked him how he obtained the boat and did he have a bill of sale he showed them the video on his iphone.

It was the craziest thing. I actually saw it on the news as well as several of his friends. His cell started ringing off the hook. "Hey dude!" Your house is on TV and there's a bay boat with the trailer still attached on your balcony.  I'll have to see if I still have the picture. I since built a new computer so it may be on my external back up drive.

He put an add in the local paper and after paying $1000 to gently remove it from the house, he had it professionally cleaned and detailed (insurance paid for everything later) and parked it at his company warehouse in Baton Rouge. He did find out that it was stored at a mini storage facility 4 1/2 miles away from his house.

Another house like his had a 12 point buck that unfortunately drowned but was on his 2nd story balcony.

On the north shore of Lake Pontchatrain (North of New Orleans) there were several boats that ended up 3, 5 and 10 miles from the lake. There were several ads on Craigslist stating that the boat or jet ski just "Showed up" during the storm. Some college kids renting a house had a CL list that stated "Bring two cases of Miller Lite and take the boat with you on your way out." It was a bass boat with a 112 on it.

Just read an article where it's estimated that 20 million tons of debris was created by the Tsunami. An estimated 3-4 million of this ended up in the water. Some sank but an estimated 1-2 million tons is still floating around. A million tons is a lot btw. Y'all on the N West coast oughta keep an eye on the shoreline ...

Not too worried about it.  We still get old Japanese glass floats washing up on our shore which have been bobbling around since the pre-WWII days.

We used to blow up islands in the South Pacific with hydrogen bombs.  That dumped way more radioactive debris into the ocean than Fukishima.  I am not going to eat any Japanese seafood at this time, but I won't hesitate to slurp down some fresh west coast oysters.   :D
