Yep .. that's it, but I put thunderbolt ignition in it,  installed an Alpha drive,  later model t/t pump and rams, 4 blade prop 20 pitch, and if I can find an exhaust bellow around here I will put it on, quieten it down some more.

As we are talking about Barb's Intimidator right now, may I ask why it "only" runs 70mph? (That's the last number I read somewhere) I mean, didn't you put something with nearly 425 horse in there? 200 horse more is only good for 5 miles?!

little story about that Aaron,  when we first put that motor in her boat, with the 1.5 ratio Alpha drive, done a lake test, the drive locked up at 73mph, Me ... in all my brilliance, had a fellow build a new drive with the 1.32 ss gears, figured the motor would spin the custom 23 pitch prop ... it wouldn't do it, so we put a new 21 pitch PowerTech on it for her to go to Red Wing, before she put's it back in the water this year we will put a 1.5 ratio drive back on it, and go through another prop selection, dial it in.

Okay nice. Was wondering why it was "that slow". I mean nearly 200 horse more is quite a bit, and only 5 miles more top speed? Naaaa that can't be it ;)

Can't wait to see/hear some new testing stories..

here's the video, listen to the drop in rpm's begin to drop at 27 seconds into the video, it was running 73mph @ 5200 rpm
Barb's Intimidator
Just about 10 seconds after I stopped the video it locked up, we were the only boat on the lake, sundown, but Barb had her cell phone, the local volunteer fire dept brought out their rescue boat and towed us to the trailer.
Here's a video I took while we were waiting .. too cool
Barb's Intimidator
Barb pulled one of the LED lights from under the dash to shine towards the rescue boat so they could find us.

Hey Red, the "Reds Gold" Scimitar looks great and like you said, looks like it jumps out of the gates like a race horse.  The boat stands up proud as it cruises by.
