Nevermind, it seems to be back now. Was in blackout for about 20 minutes.
But, access is slow to respond.

Bummer. I have a theory...but not sure if its correct.

I noticed that after it came back, it was spammed pretty badly. I'm wondering if the spambots aren't overloading the site (thus the 'Max Connections Reached' error), and flooding it with mass registrations & then spam posts.

Its only a theory...but that Max Connections error is a hint in that direction. (Possibly.)

Checking on the error points to some Database issues, so who knows.

I did some more quick research. Being a DBA, DB issues bug me...

Looks like this is a widespread issue with phpBB, other boards are experiencing the very same issue.

(Its likely that the board isn't closing connections when users log off; instead keeping the connections open until the max connection limit is reached.)

Seems to be working a little better now, I think you guys are right about the spammers/hackers fouling things up! (Not that I know anything about running forums, just a hunch?)
