Calling All Electricians! HELP!!

Years ago Dad drew me a diagram showing how to wire a Double Pole Double Throw switch to make an electric motor run in fwd or reverse. Naturally I can't find it ...  Does this look right?

No, what you've got there is a direct short to the battery. Power from the battery always goes to the center terminals of the switch. Then connect the two wires from the motor to two corner terminals of one end of the switch. Leave the "X" crossing wires in place as you've drawn them. I've redrawn your picture below.

How will you be using this, to power a trim motor? You really should be using a pair of solenoids or you could burn up your wiring and switch.
