Rochford Supply
« on: May 03, 2012, 02:04:15 PM »
I ordered new seat foam yesterday.  According to my receipt, it was 3:45 pm when I placed the order.
Doorbell just rang, all my seat foam and seam tape being delivered before 2 pm next day.  I chose standard delivery and paid $17 for the whole order.  I have no reason to complain.  Time to roll out the foam and let it breathe.

Did you order the sample pack first?  I've been thinking about ordering that to make my choices...

Doran, no I didn't.  I was pretty confident about what I wanted.  The 3 inch foam the PO had on the rear bench was so soft you could feel yourself hit the plywood if you were on choppy water.  I wanted something a bit firmer.  Turned out that what I ordered (I called my order in) is their most popular for boat seats.  I ordered 3 inch for the seats & 1/2 inch for the padded trim.

Next time I'm in Des Moines, I can bring you a piece so you can check it out.

I'm planning on 3" as well, but 1" firm + 2" of Med...that's the current plan anyway.

I went with 3 inches of medium-firm.  Laid out on the floor, I can walk across it with my knees and not feel like I'm hitting the floor.  In a medium, it might make a nice bedroll for the kids when they have sleepovers.
