CVX16 handeling question
« on: August 03, 2012, 10:24:07 AM »
My CVX16ss that I put the V8 into is the first and only CVX16 I've driven. I have found that it "banks" corners a lot more than other deeper v-hull boats I have driven. Is this common for other CVX16's or is it a characteristic amplified from my boat with the added V8 weight and torque? I can "bank" corners tight enough that I've gotten oil to leak out of my valve cover vent...

I will confirm that these boats bank hard even with our 140hp I-4.  Kinda my favorite part really, it's like driving a well tuned sports car on the water.  If it doesn't have it already, power steering makes those turns effortless.  And here I was hoping that the 18's banked just as hard, maybe not :-(

Yeah, I like it too. It's like driving a big jet ski. Too bad it doesn't leave a big enough wake to jump your own like a jetski. I've been collecting parts for adding power steering, I don't have a lot of room in my engine compartment with the v8 and aftermarket exhaust manifolds, so It will be a little difficult.

My cvx-18 banks pretty hard. Not sure in comparison to the cvx-16 v8s though.. but about the same as my cv-16 that I had before this one. I also like it  ;D
