A little more progress on the GT-150
« on: August 04, 2012, 05:16:40 AM »
Hope you guys aren't getting bored with my progress reports, I think it was Doran who once said "I put a bolt in and take pics, post the results" or something like that?  Thought I'd post here for those who don't frequent the Nat'l. forum.....
Spent the last  several hours  yesterday laying up under the dash wiring up gauges and switches.  = Stiff neck this morning! (I opted to put the trim gauge in anyway, I already had it so why not!?)  I like full instrumentation.

The controls and steering are in and hooked up, most of the electronics are done.

Started adding a few stickers here and there, just to keep the motivation factor up.

Time to get back to work before it gets too hot out in the garage, gotta get the battery tray installed so I can see if all this stuff works.  I'm not going to fool with the interior until this fall, rigging up a temporary "captains chair" so I can play with height adjustments before the final seat base build.

Looks great. I put a trim gauge in too, then found out they don't work with merc's. but it looks good.

I have to agree with everyone else here, Mark.  Those gauges look really nice.  Simple, too.  They're kinda like a classy watch - not too fancy, but fancy enough.  Well done!

Hey Mark - I've got an extra medallion for the bow if you need it.  Looks like you're sticker was put down on the glass.  Let me know & I'll send you a picture of what I've got ... it's got GT in raised/beveled aluminum ...

I've got two dogs that stay in the garage at night, and they love to treat the trailer jack like a fire hydrant!  That makes the wheel "freeze up" (evidently dog urine is very corrosive).  I split the bucket in half to place around the wheel to protect it.  Sorry about being gross, but that's the story.

I kinda like the way the dash turned out, thanks guys.  Somebody ripped to warning buzzer out of the control box, so the red light on the right is a Cole Hersee warning light/buzzer wired in to replace the original one in the box.  The tale will be told when I get behind the wheel for the first time, coming soon hopefully.

The gauges worked out great Joe, thanks again!  I still have the fuel gauge I'm not going to use, if anybody needs it just give me a shout.
