That picture is kind of what it looked like when we visited Ashland and Bayfield last week for - do I dare say it - "Spring Break"!

Apparently "Mother Nature" missed the instructions that "April Fools" wasn't supposed to last for more than the first day!!   LOL

Oh well - it's not nice to mess with Mother Nature - and it's good for the drought conditions.   ;)

Anyway, it was quite the contrast up in Bayfield to see where the ice breaker ship had cut a path to Madeline Island and also see a ferry as well as an older metal fishing boat literally "plowing" their way pushing the ice chunks out of their way alongside the winter passenger air-sled with snowmobiles running beside them all at the same time!!

It was also a little shocking to see how much further they've gotten with demolition on the Ashland Ore Dock since we were there last fall - it's approximately half gone now (bottom half - top half & silos are completely gone now) with just the base pier left for driving back to the shore with the hauling trucks.

Current web cam: http://www.ashlandmarina.com/kreher-park.html

Nobody up there seemed to know yet whether they were going to leave at least the base pier for people to fish from, walk out on, etc. They also have the equipment in place to start tearing down the old treatment plant too. My wife loves to stay in that RV park there - now we're wondering if it will even be open this year for a few trips (if the snow ever goes away).   :)
