Had a visitor today...
« on: May 29, 2013, 07:07:37 PM »
This is v184 crestflite I think......very nice original boat. Has a 165 mercruiser in it. Getting a new trailer and some work to the outdrive/engine.  I heard rumors today that we are expecting a CV16 in on Thursday...

Looks like the boat that James Bond made the jump with, especially the second pic.  :D

Is this person a club member or know about us?

Do you think he'd notice if the plastic flip up cover on the bow was missing when he came back? ;D

Gregg

Is that a Ford Escape your pulling with, I have been looking at a 2012 Escape with 3.0 engine thinking it mught be a good tow vehicle...

I have a F150 just about the same as the red one in the picture, trying to get a better gas mileage vehicle for an overall year round driving...Any opinions would be great...

Mine is a 2002 Escape V6, I think it's a Mazda motor, it get's very poor mpg.
Maybe 14 mpg in town and maybe 18 to 19 on long trips/hiway.
My wife's a LEAD FOOT !
It has plenty of power though ...

New one's are turbo's with same 3500 lbs towing caps.

Gas mileage stinks on the Escapes. Wife has a 2002. Plenty of two capability be the mpg is awful.

The owner of this V184 has asked for an approximate towing weight......Boat and Trailer, has a 165 Mercruiser.  Anyone have any information?

Thanks,  Retro

1973 V-184  - 1300 lbs.
MerCruiser 165 - 750 lbs.

Plus add 25 gal. fuel tank and battery ...
