1977 V-225 bal harbor cabin cruiser
« on: June 01, 2013, 10:27:27 PM »
I was at a garage sale today and noticed a small glastron cabin cruiser with a best offer sign on it.
went back tonight to talk to the owner, turns out it belongs to a guy i worked with a few years ago (small world)
he had it covered and did not really want to uncover it but described it as a project. upholstery is rough, and it has hail damage, and the windshield is broken. it has a camper cover and travel cover that are well worn. mercruiser with a ford 351 apparently runs good.
he eluded to $3500 or offer.
i know in the long run this would be the boat Laurie would want but the time is just not right for me.
here is his contact info.

Small world is right! I worked with him too. I think he came on with us as a "contract" engineer.

Is it blue on white?
If so, it's been on CL for a couple years. Pam and I considered it to stay true to Glastron before we bought our current Searay

I don't even remember, but it was in Maple wood near hwy 36 and white bear ave.
he said he really wants to sell it, but then he still has it (he told me it was for sale 7 years ago too)
so i guess he dont want to sell it all that bad :/
right now their is 1 page and a half of glastrons on CL here. but i must say some of these people are high (and so is their price)

Awesome! If there is any boat that screams Joe and Laurie that would be it. I am sure you guys will love that thing! Congrats!

Giving the old Safari Explorer quite the workout!

That's cool, as long as you don't have to trim it. :)

How come it doesn't have the Glastron swoosh on the side?
Does it need any major work?

Probably Transom, engine mounts, rear floor (forward from engine compartment has been done previously). No cushions in cuddy, has camper top, but it's in poor condition.
