Cruising around in the shade in style!  Probably a dumb question, but does it get on plane?  Look forward to seeing it in August.

It got ya home safe, so I'd call that a successful cruise.  From the picture, it appears to mount to a hinge?  Does it fold and stow out of the way so you pilot the boat while standing?

At WOT it's on plane in about 15 seconds, Max speed is 37 mph.
It cruises real nice at 30 mph, about 3000 RPMs, and it cuts right through all the rough water on the St. Croix on the weekend

It doesn't really stow, that's just the mechanism so it can move forward and backward, it does move back far enough so you can stand at the helm.

All fixed, a new piece of marine plywood, 15 Tnuts and screws, no time to coat it with resin, so it will probably only last 40 years, like the last one.

So after camping two weeks ago, we got back to the launch after, I back the trailer in the boat wouldn't start, starter has a stuck bendix :-( oh well, so we walked the boat on the trailer.
As it turns out I installed the starboard side motor mount too far back, so it was in the way of the starter, had to take the saws all to it to get the starter out, also had to remove the alternator and the water hose.

This is the large heavy duty Prestolite starter.
Jim was helping me out, we tried a smaller starter design but that didn't pan out, so had the original one rebuilt, install the new starter, and then it turned over but I couldn't get it to start, turns out for some odd reason the fuel pump failed as well. And the rebuilt starter only worked once, Bendix still sticks so that is back at the rebuilders now.
I did get the electric feel pump installed last night

Still waiting for the oil pressure cut out switch and block off plate for the mechanical pump.

Could the Bendix issue be related to shimming?  My camper,(454), gave me grief untill I shimmed it correctly.
