Ready for some Great Lakes Fishing
« on: June 26, 2013, 09:49:40 AM »
I am heading up to Duluth to fish on the big lake.  As I said before the V195 was to be my fishing boat. So on Sunday I built a rack to hold the downriggers, fishing poles and net. Got 4 downriggers and can hold 8 poles and the net all on the rack. I am sorry I did have to drill a couple holes. But she is all mounted and ready to go. I will try to remember to post some pics this weekend when we are out. Hopefully it is not too windy and we catch lots of fish.
I think this has become an addiction.

Here is a few pics from the new setup in action and just a few other pics of the calm lake. Had 7 lines out most of the time. We were fishing in about 170 feet of water about 2 miles from shore. Friday night it was pretty foggy and we could not see shore or anything else. It got a little spooky when it was time to come in because the sun was going down quick. Thank you I-phone we had the maps out on one and the compass out on the other. With out them we would have never found shore. I forgot to get pics of the fog though.
I think this has become an addiction.

Did you catch any fish?  What were you fishing for?  We don't have any lakes around here that are anywhere near that deep.

Salmon and Lake trout. Not sure on the exact depth but I think it can get over 1,000 feet.
