Does anyone have one of these flame arrestor covers?
« on: September 04, 2013, 12:24:48 PM »
Does anyone have one of these laying around? Not sure if they are different but doesn't matter if it is from a v6 or v8, don't care condition of the decals, I would be removing anyway. Thanks.

Rich, you can find those on ebay.  I have 3 of them and the cheapest one that I was able to get was $45.  I had this one spray chromed, and it was pricey!!  I would be ashamed to tell what I paid for that....., but it was done for the engine we just built for the CV23.  It was not on for the engine pic.

Yeah, I see them all over eBay and can't bring myself to pay that for a piece of plastic. If I am going to spend that money I'll get a new K&N and spend a few bucks more. Just though I would ask if someone had one they were will to sell for a fair price.

Red, that looks sweet on your ride!

We want to fabricate one out of aluminum and then polish it.

A fair price for one in good condition, imo, is $50 / $65  and yes, they are just a piece of plastic, a moulded Mercruiser design, no longer in production, very hard to duplicate, and a very nice addition to any Mercruiser application.  You wouldn't believe how many I have bought over the last few years, they look that good to me, worth the money.

I have a few places I am going to check locally that may have one laying around. If not, I will loosen up and buy one from eBay. That being said, does anyone have one for sale at (market price) ??
