SOLD 1979 Glastron Carlson 18 CVX SOLD
« on: January 23, 2014, 01:49:30 PM »
Ken email a request to post his CVX for sale ....

SWEET !

Here are the pictures of the boat i am going to sale. It is a 1979 Glasstron Carlson 18 cvx. I am the second owner and the boat has been kept inside and covered since new. It has the original paint and the original interior, both in excellent condition. The engine has been upgraded to a built 350 by Hendrick  Motorsports and I was told, has about 450 HP and runs fine on premium gas. The original owner had this done in i think 1998. I bought the boat in 1999 and have made no changes to the boat since. I have most all the original paperwork and owners manual on the boat and have a lot of the paperwork on the engine and  components used during building. They also installed a thru-transom exhaust system that sounds incredible, but not to loud. The boat has a top speed of 73 mph that i have seen. (I let off at that point) with incredible torque on the low end. It has a 23 degree Predator Prop that is stainless. I would like to see the boat go to someone like you guys who appreciate these boats for what they are.. Anyway the boat is for sale now, and i am pretty firm on the price of $6500.

Thanks;  Ken

Very nice!

73mph sounds fun. I bet she would do even better with a 25P

Jason i've never seen anyone get speeds like that out of a CVX18 turning a 23P prop. So if the boat is truly that fast, I Would guess there has been some work done to that prop. Also pretty tough to get 450 HP out of normally aspirated 350 marine engine runnning stock exhaust. I'd guess it has more like 350 HP unless it has nitrous.

Nice boat either way.
