I'm probably the only one who didn't know this...but I just realized that in the Episode "All About Eva", she comes to the island in a 1966 Gulfcruiser V-205...(Top Picture)

Fond memories from childhood.   Good catch on the Glastron, I would not have guessed that.   Like many at the time, I had a hard time understanding how the professor could make batteries from coconuts, but couldnt figure out how to patch a hole in a boat hull.

They never get a good shot of the whole stern, but the boat rocks a couple of times and you can see a fuzzy black 'Glastron' emblem.

What that confuses me about that show is their island must be pretty close to civilization with all the "guests" that seem to come and go so easily, otherwise how would a boat that size make it to the island and still have enough fuel to return?

I'm sure you've seen it, I'd forgotten it too.  Its the episode where Tina Louise plays 2 parts...her normal Ginger role, and then Eva this dark haired, super nerdy character that comes to the island to live alone.

Probably the worst screw up Gilligan lets slip that when they're rescued, they're going to send back help for Eva.  Eva hides the spark plugs...then...Ginger gives Eva a makeover and Eva realizes she's beautiful and an exact match double of Ginger, so she'll want to go back.

So...she heads back to Hawaii to resume Ginger's life in Hollywood.

Speakng of kids, did they really put one behind the wheel of that boat in the marketing lit to make it look bigger? I think they did!...........LOL

I remember this episode...............I think it may be the one when Professor says " It's impossible to make spark plugs out of sea shells"................Not sure if I am remembering that right? I think he was sitting at a table trying to make them when he said it? Of course it could just be my old memory again...................................I always think I would fair well in a Gilligans Island triva contest.........wonder if there is a Gilligans web site?

Love Gilligan's Island, they have been running it a lot on TV land, just watched it a few nights ago, a telephone line wash up and the professor made a phone...

Remember those old questions Ginger or Mary Ann" definitely Mary Ann!!!! :)

I'm such a geek....

Can you remember what move Jane Seymour was cruising around in a Carlson...It was not Live and Let die...

OK, I was a Gilligan's Island freak when I was a kid.  I used to watch it while I rolled my newspapers for my paper route.   Now you are probably not going to believe this but I used to work for Budweiser in marketing and made a lot of commercials.  One of them had some dialog in it where some beer drinkers asked the classic "Ginger or Mary Ann" question.   I received a phone call in my office one morning from Dawn Wells.   I was afraid she might be angry and want us to stop airing the ad.   The funny thing is that she loved the commercial and was very fun to talk to. I've read other places that she is a very nice lady and has made a lot of appearances over the years.  I wonder if it was just boat nuts that liked Gilligan's Island?   Leave it to Beaver came on right afterward and I never thought it could hold a candle to Gilligan's Island.  I have to admit that I did like the Howell's golf cart too.  I have the original pilot on videotape.

I found the old commercial.   Can't believe it was 1993.

Budweiser Ad Classic TV Ad from 1993 Ginger or Mary Ann?

Mary Anne's hotter'n Genie anyday. Mary Anne was pure & chaste. Unlike Genie who lived in a bottle ...

Whenever I had this conversation with friends over the years guys would want to clarify if we were talking about one date (Ginger) or marriage (Mary Ann).  I personally was an unwavering Ginger fan.
