I bought my boat first, it was in Chesapeak City Maryland, I think it was a 3150 mile round trip to get it, and then I got the other one for my brother-in-law, it was in Tucson Ac, about a 2000 mile round trip to get it home.  I put the 300hp motor in it, built the seat frames, put in the carpet, dressed up the trailer,  George had the rest of it done just in time for the July 4th parade here on the Oklahoma River, we only took it out a couple times before the Christmas parade, then stored it for winter.  George realized it was just too small a boat for his family, he sold it to a fellow in California,  as I understand it,  the fellow that bought it didn't like the ride, and decided to buy a bigger boat, and he sold it shortly.

may have to cut & paste these,  I don't know how to do video here

Here they are, and Yes ... I parked the decorated Scimitar in my drive way for christmas,  it got a lot more attention than if I had decorated my house .. LOL

 :-/ Made it to the River late. Nice to meet some of you! My friend I had with me wants to sell his boat and get a Glastron now!!  ;D WOW boating on the river is fun, and flippin' scary at times with those huge boats. We got soaked. Some of those waves all I could do was power through them. I am gonna do my best to make it next year! I really wanted to ride along side all the other Glastrons!

I couldn't make it to the meet this past weekend, but been keeping up with the postings.  Sounds like a great time!

I haven't added my boat to this thread yet, so thought I'd add a few of my favorites of our '86 CVX16....

Hi guys, I've been lurking on this site for a while now. It is a nice site, you guys help alot of people out. I have a '78 cvx-16 with a tower of power 115 . I just finished it late last year and got on the water once so far. I picked up a manual jackplate and mounted it too, got some experementing to do with that yet. I love the way the boat handles and looks.

Seen on the introductions thread but I'll put it here too anyway. My '64 Skiflite 142 needs the rotting transom rebuilt and a keel crack fixed, as well as some work on the '64 Evinrude Lark VI 40HP Selectric since getting it from my brother 8 years ago. I've never had it in the water since then. It also has Lec O Lift hardware installed but is missing the cylinders. We might have the pump somewhere. If suitable cylinders (and the pump) can't be located, I'll probably remove that hardware from the motor (cylinder mounts have to come off the transom anyway when that's rebuilt).

This Wizard Bolero Imperial 15 was hauled from California then I found a '67 Lark IX 40HP to put on it. It looks like it's in rougher shape but is currently more seaworthy. Here's me with Grandma (89 then, now 97) and Mom.

Hello Everyone,

My name is David Bies; I am a 30yld Airforce Vet and a new owner to a 86' CVX16 Carlson with a 120 V4 VRO Evenrude this last spring wich I purchased from a man who had not used it for 6 years;

I would love to join all of you in Red Wing next weekend but I am having an issue with the Idle/low throttle of my boat;
I have redone all four carb kits; changed and checked fuel lines; compression is good; replaced sparkplugs, spark is good; I've been putting seafoam in when I fuel up with 91-92 Oct and Changed the gear oil as soon as I brought it home;

I don't seem to know why I am getting this issue... If anyone can find time to assist me it would be great, I could even throw you a few bucks for your assistance if you can take a look at it with me; call or email me; 651-675-9723 ; db1874@hotmail.com

Thanks and best regards,
Dave

Here we go ...
My better half sent me to the lake last night while she kept the kids ... perfect opportunity to take pictures.
My name is Dan O'Connor, my wife is Courtney.  Aidan, my son, is 8.  My daughter, Lauren, is 5.
Courtney bought me this GT 150 for Father's Day this year.  She saw me looking at boats often enough and knew that I missed my 1994 Glastron SSV 170.
The lines & shape of the GT immediately caught her eye.  She liked, too, the storyline given to the GT's because of their association with Live & Let Die.
At the time, she really liked the hint of pearl that is in the white with the solid red.  After joining this forum and seeing the photos on here, she wishes for some extreme metal flake in the red and a much heavier pearl in the white.  I'd have to agree.  Less expensive projects first ...
Many of you have seen my other topics & offered me invaluable advice.  I thank you all.  While there are improvements yet to be made, she starts easy and runs well.  I see more work in her cosmetically than I do mechanically, so we'll see what I can accomplish over the winter.  If any of you looking at these pictures know where I can get the termination plates for the windshield side arms, please let me know.  Even sellers of windshieldless GT's are unwilling to part those out.
I'm limited to 4 attachments, so I'll choose the best 4.  These will cover the "my boat" portion of this topic.  I completely neglected to set the timer and go stand in a shot or two to satisfy the "me" portion.  Nevertheless, I'll add that soon.
Thanks again, everyone !

Wow, some amazing boats here...not to mention the impressive amount of work into restoring some of these old beauties! I love the pic's in this thread. Awesome!

I've got a hand-me-down Intimidator, 1986 model, that I'm working to get lake ready. Wish I had more knowledge, as it took me all day to get the trim to "kind of" work. Seeing some of the massive resto's here make me feel a bit sheepish, but maybe that's a good thing as I know I'll be in need of good advice...and parts! Boat's in pretty decent shape overall, general cosmetic issues to be expected on a 26 year old boat. But the electrical is going to be a nightmare for an amateur like me.

Here she is:

I've got some work to do yet. As you can see, the windshield is missing. All new gauges are in order. I don't think the speedo ever worked right. My old man bought this boat in about 1989 and it has been sitting for the last 8-9 years with a trashed lower unit. Got the lower unit repaired, new upholestery, the minor important things like blowers, bilge and trim motor replaced...and it's almost ready for the water. Just cosmetics after that.

I put up a brief intro, but to recap, this is the boat I grew up on. I love it dearly as many good memories come from being out on the water with my Dad and brother. I want to get it all the way back to perfect eventually.

Glad to be here, and hope to learn a lot!
