That's not cheating. That's street racing. There is always somebody faster out there and I'm OK with that.

I sure do miss the days at Red Rock back in high school. Then someone had to go and die and ruin all the fun. For over 14 years the road still has barriers to keep people from racing.

Wow, has it really been that long. I remember going down there with our street bikes. That was so much fun, 3 in the morning hanging out and racing!

Wow you were lucky to have a secluded place to race with pavement. I was always in the open.

I had the most Fun with my 1980 Citation X-11 with a 2.8L v6 H.O.

If my memory serves me correct. The Speedo pegged at 80mph with 3000 rpm left on the 6 grand tach and I can remember that tach hitting 5 grand a time or two.
Unfortunately, that car met its demise during an impromptu race on the edge of my hometown city limits when I was doing 70mph and gave up the race to not get caught and down shifted my car and watched the tach peg it self 2 or 3 times.  The engine managed to limp around with a rod knock for a few months after I traded it in for a grand prix.

Jerry, I will remove the bottle. Straight up tow rig vs. tow rig, no trailer and boat too hard on the transmission's.

Redrock was a lot of fun. That video doesn't do it justice. I remember cruising university ave until about 10 at night then everyone heading down to redrock. It was a quarter mile of cars up and down the very small shoulders then cars and bikes racing down in between. Was pretty scary to be standing on the side of the road when the cars come flying by you. If i remember right the death was a guy on a street bike. It was all fun and games till the cops showed up.

At that time I was racing my 94 Lincoln Mark VIII.

At 9:09 is my brothers Maverick. At that time it had a 302. Now it has a supercharged 3.8 out of a thunderbird supercoupe.

Somewhat back to the original topic...when you started this thread Steve, I thought you were talking about the CV-19OB...any plans on tackling that yet?

It's just sitting until I get back to work. Have some really cool ideas for that boat but I would like to use those ideas first on the CV16X project. The 16 will be like no other when it is done.

I'll take on all comers towing their boat.

I think that as long as no one buys a car to just go 1/4 mile I have a solution for the best tow vehicle.
We hook up boats & each get 10 gal. fuel.
I'm betting my 4 cyl. Tacoma rated to tow 3500 lbs. will beat everyone at 25 MPG.

My little 2002 Toyota Celica (140 HP, 1.8 liters, 5 speed manual, total weight 2,625 pounds) has a tow rating of 2,000 pounds. That will cover the weight of the boat and motor. Should get 25 MPG or better on the highway. Now I have to learn how to slip the clutch while pulling the boat out of the water.
