Experienced odd bites on their bodies??
At first we thought it was mosquitoes but some of our bites have a pattern. Joni has them on her back as well. She thinks maybe there were sand fleas somewhere? Definitely not Mosquitoes.

BTW, that is my leg and not her back. LOL Yikes!

Got about 100 mosquito bite per ankle ...

Joni's homemade solution.
A brush duct taped to a plastic spoon. Very high tech.

Was thinking they could be Chiggers too.
Either that or something from the Nuke plant but nothings glowing yet that I am aware of.

Don't think it was from the water. Mine showed up Sunday morning. I walked around the campground barefooted Saturday night.

Yeah sand fleas can be anywhere. I don't know where we got them but I dont think Joni went in deep enough at Kinni nor did she lay in the sand at either place, so?

I thought the SOP while in MN was sunscreen by day, bug spray by night.  Well, that's what I did, and came away with neither bug bites or sunburn.  Kinda feel victorious in that.  BTW, the comment, That's not Joni's back was even funnier after I saw the picture.

I had some of those same bites, mostly on the ankles. I put a lot of the clear calamine lotion on and that helped a lot. Not mosquito bites. I had some of those also, but these were different. I never went swimming, but waded around about waist high when I went out to take the pictures of the boats at kinnickinnic . Waded in water ankle deep at treasure Island. Wasn't barefoot, had sandals on.  Reminds me, I didn't do anything with the phone pictures. I should do that

     I spent some time at camp Friday night, spent considerable time on the beach, plenty of both water and sand time at Kinni, and didn't have a bite one, maybe they didn't like the taste of out-of-towners?  If they are fleas, the bite is more open, larger than mosquitos, chiggers are evil, I have them in the turf at home, I spray my ankles before mowing.  Similar to mosquito bites, but seem to itch more IMHO.

If its not from the water, then why doesnt everyone have them?
No big deal. Mine didn't even really itch per se. Just curious if others experienced this and I see they did. Maybe more spray next time.

The wife and I got bit up like that once. We believe it was from the cove.. Sand dune outside of TI.  Sand fleas we thought.   Have been up and down that river from Stillwater to T.I. For many years and that's the only spot we've had that kind of trouble.
