Glastron friendly spots on the St. Croix
« on: October 05, 2015, 08:47:45 PM »
Thank you Jason for pointing out that there are nice public docks around back of the fake steamers in Stillwater.  What other locations on the St. Croix are friendly stops between Hastings and Stillwater?  Food?   Beverages?  Sand?

oh man, so many! I am gonna have to put some time into this post!

But real quick, there are public docks in Hudson, Afton, and Prescott. All with restaurants to eat/drink at. Best Beaches you can pull a boat up to at Kinikinickinickckcic, Hudson islands, and north of Stillwater.

I'll get some screen shots later on.

"The county expects to open the site up with a focus on quiet, non-motorized use. There will be picnic tables, restrooms, and perhaps some scenic overlooks. Boaters will be able to land on the beach. Because the steep bluffs are a fragile landscape with high potential for erosion, use will be limited"

SWEET !

going into an unknown marina from the water, I never know where to park the boat.  It would help me to see where the public boat parking areas are in these hot spots.

Hudson dock/launch/wall ...

We have parked at public dock (red) and beach by launch (green).
I have seen boats along wall(blue), it's a "No wake" area so might be OK ...

That is really helpful.  Idling in blind and hoping the spot you take is okay to park your boat for a while, not fun.

Treasure Island (Red Wing)
Stop at gas dock (red) tell them you want to park and have lunch.
They will put you in slip (blue).
Walk up to landing (green) and wait for bus to take you to casino.
Haven't done this in a while so they might charge you to park ?

When ever we go out to dinner in Stillwater we always stop at Candyland.
You can put on 3 lbs. just by walking in the door ... LOL
They have candy I have not seen in 50 years ...

Just pull up and park on the beach. They only charge if you overnight on the beach or want a slip to park in.
I think this has become an addiction.
