Now I'm really confused!   I see my .JPG picture just fine on my computer, but I can't see any little box with an X in your post????   Is there anyone else who can see the picture in my post?

Yes, the shaft of my Tilt Lock is broken near the middle of the shaft.

Not familiar with the lever, but if it is metal and it broke, is there any reason it couldn't be welded back together?

It's stainless, probably pretty easy to weld, but it looks like it's broke right at the step so I would need to be machined :/
I'm positive I have one from one of my motors, I just have to look for it. hopefully tonight.

This is one that was in my box of parts, as you can see the shaft is broken off of the lever, but I could weld that back on no big deal, thing is is it looks slightly different than what you have.
Two of the motors I have out back also have the same deal, it's a smaller shaft about 1/4" as shown in the picture that slides through the middle of the larger sleeve thats  about 3/8". The end of the quarter inch shaft has a flat tire that another piece connecting with a setscrew. I think the piece that attaches to that shaft locks the motor down when it's in the run position, so it doesn't flip up when you go in reverse.

I could probably pull one off of one of these motors, or I have a midsection laying in the scrap pile at the farm, I will be up there this weekend.
I could probably send something to you next week, if that would help.

A whole mid-section because of a broken shaft?  That seems a little extreme, but the part in your picture is quite different than mine.   Welding and re-machining in that tight tolerance critical area would certainly be a challenge!   I'd be interested to know what you find in your scrap pile!

I've tried to take mine apart, without success.  Apparently the stress of the break fused everything together.  I think it would be just as easy to machine a new part, as to weld and re-machine a broken one.  Thank you for your attempts to help!

Wasn't actually suggesting changing the midsection just said the whole thing is laying in the junkpile. I did not get a chance to look at it but I am confident it's the same as the picture I posted, all of my motors are 73 to 77 and I believe they all have the same lever.
And anything I use will have power trim I just trailer it was a motor tilted up.

Your picture is quite different than my part.   Is there a possibility my center section was changed out for a later model at some time in the past?   Mine has that .700" dia. x .760" sleeve that doesn't seem to be part of your shaft.   That larger sleeve fits into a c'bore in my center section.

I really appreciate your help!

I machined a new one from 416 ss, and it's back together and working fine.   Thank you for all your good work to find an answer for me!
