Hey everyone -
I want to put a piece of aluminum across the boat to attach the hood hinge too. Right now it attaches to the wooden seat frame and operation, alignment is so-so.
My thoughts would be a 1/16" - 1/8" strip about 3" wide and about 3 1/2' long.
I want to do this to align the hood better and maybe add a hood strut/shock/prop kind of thing so the hood doesn't flop all the way forward and hyper extend the hinge. I was also thinking this may make the rear deck a tiny bit stronger and not flex as much when getting in and out of the boat from the stern.
Anyone do this or have input? What hinges are you guys using on your rebuilds?
Thanks in advance.
