1979 CVX20 for sale or parting out

(1/1)

rwells:
I just signed up here, so I don't know if I'm doing everything right, correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a 1979 CVX20 that I bought 6 years ago to restore, sadly I have come to the resolution that I will never have the time or the money to do it. I have thought about selling it as a whole, but think I have a better chance of getting my money out of it, if I parted it out.

what I really need is some input from the people that knows the most about these boats, I have $2600 in it, yes I love these boats, so I need to get that out of it, is there a market in parting it out, or should I try selling it together? Thanks Ron

I have a lot more pics, and I posted some gauges and parts I have as well.
If you have any questions or  suggestions you can call or text me at 928-486-7726  I am in Lake Havasu City Az.

The CVX-20 Jet that you have is certainly one of the more desirable Glastron Carlson's out there.   Nothing has a better looking tail than the 20 jet, the lines are simply gorgeous.    What is the rest of the craft's condition?   IMHO, even if it needs full restoration, and a drivetrain rebuild, its still worth more than $2600.00.     Parting out is an option, but somewhat painful and can be tedious.   Havasu is a bit of a jaunt from MN, but the Glastrons have a following in that part of the country as well.   Sorry to hear the projects demise, many of us have been there before.  Just never enough time to do it all.

The engine runs and is strong, berkley jet seems to be good, the two bushings for reverse are a bit loose but that's no big deal. All factory stock wiring in original condition, all factory stock gauges and controls. It is a perfect restore candidate, the hull is not all beat up, and it's dry, other than the plywood for the seats it's in great condition for it's age.
I had planned on replacing the rear bench with three buckets that would match the front two, I love the gold flake, and I was going to do the stripe in red, with the matching Livorsi gauges in the pics. The only thing that is missing is the windshield and the uprights and I just read on here earlier that someone is now making them, so that problem is solved. I have wanted one of these boats for so long, and I hate the idea of taking the hull to the salvage yard. There was very few of them made as you know and over half went out of country, it's just a shame, but life gets in the way some times, nothing you can do about it.

Try to sell it whole. I think there is a buyer somewhere in the 2k range. They are beautiful boats.
