Mercruiser weights

I assumed Glastron's Mercruiser weights were with drive, but after doing some searching found that wasn't the case.
Looks like Glastron lists motor and transom assembly only.

Guessing a 350 / Alpha ready to roll would be closer to 1150 to 1200 lbs.
Seem reasonable ?

Mercury Remanufacturing spec's
3.0L TKS (carb) 135 HP = 567 lbs.
4.3L 4V (carb) 225 HP = 784 lbs.
357 Alpha 4V (carb) 275 HP = 871 lbs.
350 MPI 300 HP = 932 lbs.

Alpha 1 - Generation 2 Transom Assembly = 125 lbs.

Alpha = 85 lbs. 
B-1 = 125 lbs.
B-2 = 137 lbs.
B-3 = 148 lbs.
Alpha one Gen 2 Bare drive Shipping Weight: 110 lbs.

Battery = 50 lbs.

Mercruiser Trim Pump = 15 lbs.

SS prop = 10 lbs.

Can I assume the weight difference between merc 260 and omc 260 are the exhaust manifolds?  Since they are both Chevy 350's.   I can attest a bravo 1 is plenty heavier than an alpha 1.

Interesting. Helps explain why my boats seemed to have some extra weight.

The OMC's also had petty big motor mounts as they included trim cylinders in them.

On Mercruiser's  the transom assembly includes the trim/tilt cylinders, also think that includes power steering.
So adding at least 150 lbs. to Glastron's claims, plus add some for fluids.

Guessing OMC & Volvo had different transom assembly's and T&T systems, plus manifolds ..

While doing searches for motor weights, found a near 100 lbs. difference between 350's (MPI, 2V, 4V, 305 ci.,)
Numbers I listed were off Mercury's site.

Why is a Ford 460 only 850 lbs. ?

The big block Ford stuff was mainly if not all Jets and most if not all had aluminum manifolds. Plus whole jet assembly weights about as much as just a drive.
I think this has become an addiction.

     Ford 460 is only 850lbs?  I'd swear the block and heads together weigh that.    To say that it weighs less than a SBC is hard to believe.

Little searching .. Berkeley Jet's weigh about 85 lbs. to 125 lbs. depending on model.


Ford 460 .. In a forum, some guy pulled one out of his boat and weigh it, so number seem right.
