Speedometer pick-up
« on: August 04, 2019, 11:34:57 AM »
Lost the speedometer about half way through the day yesterday and found out I must have hit something... the one on the left is off the boat and is an old style I think.. I have a few of the ones on the right and can use but the old one mounts with two screws and all the other ones I’ve found use three..   anyone out there have or know where I can find the two screw kind? I really don’t want to drill more holes in my transom... we all know what happens when you have to many holes.....

Sometimes you just have to bite that bullet and drill a new hole. when I install new ones or transducers for depth finders I just make sure any old screw holes are filled and sealed. I also try to cover the old holes as much as possible with the new device.

I used the newer style 3 screw one on my boat because I
couldn't find the original style one that you show on the left .
I didn't want to drill the third hole either so I used one of the holes
and had to drill out the other side  a little for it to line up
with the original hole. Didn't use the top hole and it has lasted
for years with no problems, its been 15 years or so. Mine
has more plastic area around the base than the one you show
in your picture so it may not work with that one .You may have to look
 at another brand .
