Let me know if you have any questions.
Here's the Eventbrite link: https://cgoamn2014.eventbrite.com (https://cgoamn2014.eventbrite.com)
Everything is at Cost with 3 exceptions. The Tent Camper, Slip Rental & Ramp Usage have a bit of a mark up on them so that we can pay for the website. No one profits from the event, the goal is always to break even when its all said & done.
Look at the examples, post questions here if you need help. I've done my best to be fair to everyone as far as 'sharing the cost' goes. Campers are only charged per tent, per night. Day Trippers are also contributing (as they should), and we're not marking up the fees on Kids, or Spouses, and/or Guests.
Costs are in line with last year, and that includes the fact that the campground now has a charge on kids 6-17. (Last year 15 and under were free.)
I've literally had a day and a half to get this pulled together, so I apologize for any mistakes in advance.
Registration can handle up to 8 People (4 Adults & 4 Kids). If you're a larger group, you may have to break it up into 2 purchases. Sorry.
Here's the Announcement Letter that's soon to hit your Spam Folder (so look for it!)

Ok, we've had a couple orders...any issues guys?
-
If one chooses to donate, the donation is then subject to a fee. Is there a way to donate with 100% of the money passing through to the organization?

Not through Eventbrite...they have to absorb the CC costs, and make money...so no, and its a bummer too, b/c its so convenient for the meet.
Cash at the meet always works, and is appreciated. ;)
We're absorbing those charges in the fees for the rest of the tickets.

Did I spam everyone's inbox tonight? Hopefully so!

Got mine ...

Just made our reservation for the Craig Clan! We'll be there Friday!

Hmm...I'm not seeing anything in EventBrite Josh?
-
Oh, I called the campground and made a reservation for the last RV spot. The instructions said to do that directly so I called during lunch. I just heard Marni's voicemail about the slips. I'll do that in the next few minutes!

Yep, nice job! I just saw the Slip reservation come through.

Just an FYI to answer a question or 2 that I've gotten.
You can absolutely pay 'Cash at the Door' when you arrive at the meet. You will still need to register ("buy your tickets") through the EventBrite site. When you check out, below the 'Order Now' green button, is 'Show other payment options'.
Then select 'Pay Offline' and complete your purchase.
I would encourage you to use that option, Gregg and I are discovering that we'll essentially have to 'front' Island Campground & Marina a portion of our bill out of our pockets, and then wait to be reimbursed by Eventbrite.
The cost is the same, regardless of your registration method, so if you're so inclined, Register Now, pay CASH when you arrive...it must be Cash, no checks, no CC's, no exceptions.
-
I can only come up with about $300, maybe a little more.
Vinyl purchase is on hold ... Again ...
-
Next year, we're going back to EventBrite as the registration process, but payment via Check in advance, or Cash at Red Wing upon arrival. Old school baby.
I'm not happy with EventBrite 'holding' a reserve until 5 days after the event has completed.
We'll figure it out.
-
We'll get it done, and make ajustment next year ...
-
Just registered and I will pay cash when we get there.

Sounds about right Mike. Arrive and launch Thursday two nights in the slip and take the boat out saturday night. I usually go for 3 nights of slip rental just in case I feel like one more run before leaving sunday morning.

This is a shout out to Tomas and Express Composites. Not only are they generous in their support of CGOAMN, but also generous in providing expert advice for projects. Monday Tomas hooked me up with everything I need to replace the wood floor in the CVX16 with a new lightweight rot proof honeycomb composite floor. Thank you Express Composites for the step by step advise that gives me the confidence to DIY.

Stupid question... So the lady and I are bringing the Murder van "conversion van" and intend to sleep in it. Do we need to rent a campsite or need to get an rv spot, i was just assuming that we would park in trailer row and keep an eye on the vehicles.
Also I hear the slips are much larger than the cv and was wondering if they let us split them. that being said, does anyone want to sub rent their slip to a lil cv16ss? I know it would be cheaper to just buy a slip but saving room for the larger gt boats has me thinking. And you never know... in the am, mine might just be conveniently tucked away under the dock!

Slips - Our club charge is 'per boat'...there's no sub rental or anything...technically speaking, even those that pay the 'day usage/launch fee' are not allowed to use the slips...they've only paid to launch their boats for the day...not slip them. (I'm not enforcing that, and I know Bob and Margi don't mind...but those are the campground rules...not mine.)
As far as camping...if you're not in a designated RV spot (they're all reserved now), you'll need to pay the Camping fee for you and your guest. We're charged per person. So for the 2 of you its $33.75/night, (plus the $20/night slip fee if you want to slip your boat overnight).
If you're going to take it out of the water overnight, then, as a camper, there's no charge for using the ramp.

perfect. murder van the lady and I thank you!

If it helps, I always camped in my Avalanche "Tent" and paid the camping fee. Very similar to what you're doing. No Shorty this year?

Trying to get him out, depends if he has a music festival to work or not.

i cant wait to see the "murder van" :D

Late year we had a canopy for the "Welcome area" can't remember who's it was ...
Can we use it again this year ?
I have a large table we can use, and some chairs.
Any one remember who's it was ?
-
Dave P contacted the Red Wing news paper about our event ...
Thanks Dave !
-
Amber and I have a 9x9 canopy that can be used for the welcome tent if it is needed.
-
I love the term "canopy". It's such a great word. Did you know there's a lil town south of Gainesville named Micanopy? Pronounced: "Mick A No Pee".
Named after an Indian Chief. Bet he was an ornery one too, considering his urinary troubles ...
Anyway. We always refer to the place as My Canopy. The locals really hate that ...
But I digress.
-
Anyone bringing coffee pots?
-
COFFEE ...
YES, I'll have one plus two air pots !
I think Ross has one also ...
Brandon ...
That would be great if we could use your canopy.
Doug ...
Can you man the welcome canopy ?
You could work the third shift, 11:00 till 6:00 PM ...
LOL

Just a reminder for everyone paying at the door. Please bring Cash...I don't have a local account, so I won't be able to cash checks. I want to be able to leave Sunday having fully paid Island Campground.
Thanks!!!
(Weather permitting, I'll be there on Wednesday.)

Just a quick question, and I was going to send an email from eventbrite, but for some reason it's wouldn't let me do that - kept saying something was missing even though I had everything filled in - apparently not my day for computer stuff. I was going to register us as a day tripper today since when I checked it on the top it states that the registrations close at 8:00am on 8/12/14 (and I admit to only glancing at it since we've been busy getting ready for Farm Tech Days, and don't even know for certain that we'll make it yet, but figured that I'd better pay and register anyway and if it's money lost because we couldn't make it oh well), but I see that it still says that 8/12 date but further down it also says the registrations closed on 8/5/14 and won't let you check on anything. It's kind of unclear - are "day of cash only" registrations still being taken, or are ALL registrations closed? I'm not asking for special treatment - I completely understand the reason for "no exceptions", so if we missed it we missed it because it's my fault for not taking the time to look further down. Please let me know so we can plan accordingly. Thanks!

Yes, online ticket sales closed on 8/5/12. Its the only way Gregg and I can ensure that all CC orders are deposited by 8/12.
If you're coming for the day, just come with cash, you're all set. See you Saturday.
(This is part of the messiness of the whole Eventbrite software...great site, kinda of not the ideal solution for our needs, and why next year will be the old method of email registration with Check/PayPal/Cash as Brian originally did it.)
More work for Gregg and I, but ultimately easier in the long run.
-
This year's registration process hasn't been the smoothest...so something to improve upon for next year.
I had hopes that Eventbrite would just deposit payments as they came through, but they deposit weekly (makes sense), and hold a 25% reserve, which means Gregg and I are 'prefunding' the difference, then we'll make it up on the back side when that reserve is deposited.
Seems like there's a better way...so we'll address that this Fall.
-
Sounds great and thanks for the quick response! We're going to try our best to be there!! Thanks!
-
As long as you bring CASH for camping & slips we will be able to work it out.
Things will work smoother next year ...
