I knew it was too easy for you regulars!
-
Two can play this game. Let's keep it simple at first.
-
Pretty sure that is the Mississippi just above the Hastings Lock.
-
Yes, it is.
-
hmmmmm
-
Would that be the Glastron junkyard near Pine City, MN?
Think the owner's name was Bob.
Gregg and I visited the place back in about 2007.
-
Yes but on the WI side closer to Grantsburg. Cool place to explore!
-
Jason, is the place still open? Do they take in Glastrons on a regular basis so that the remains are not fully stripped of sought after parts?
Those Switzercrafts sitting there created quite a stir when I posted that picture on Fresh and Salty Small Boat Faebook.
-
Tim's marine .. or junk yard ..

Sand bar just north of the swing bride in Hudson. The tall smoke stack in Stillwater was the giveaway!
-
You driving your work truck through town?
-
Not me one of my co workers.
-
Yep, correct on the swing bridge. I guessing the motorcyclist is thinking he'd rather be in a different spot!
-
Name the river and town. Not Red Wing as the picture states.
-
I'm guessing the Mississippi in Hastings looking under the hwy 61 Bridge.
-
where?

Arcola bridge
-
Guess the river, the bridge name, and the highway number that goes over the bridge.
-
Pretty sure it's the MN river. Maybe 494 in the background???
-
Yes, it is the Minnesota River, but upstream from the 494, Cedar, and 35W bridges.
-
Hi way 101 bridge from downtown Shakopee going north.
-
Downstream from that bridge.

Downstream from that bridge.
Only one bridge left..... 169. For some reason I was thinking that was a taller bridge. I knew Cedar had the tall sides.
-
One of the channels on Tonka

Stillwater bridge

Ford lock and dam ?

Correct, called the Bloomington Ferry Bridge, built in 1996 to better survive the frequent floodings of the Minnesota River.

That's why I threw that photo into this game! Lots of beautiful spots in Minnesota, and some outside of Minnesota, too! That shot is in Yosemite National Park, CA. (Yo-SEM-it-tee)
We have beautiful water in California, too! Those are Dogwood trees in bloom. Thanks for the Minn & WI photos! Okay, here's one you guys can't match:
That's the HMS Queen Mary, Long Beach, CA.
-
Guess the River and location - bridge takes you from suburb B to suburb S
-
MN River, Bloomington to Savage, Just down river of 169.

I know this has been mostly Minnesota places but I thought I would share. This is in the northern part of of Nebraska.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190422/8ecce154fda16c1f14bd0f0abe79b008.jpg)

That it is Gregg. The Rail Road Merged with Union Pacific in the 90s
I know that you (Brandon & Amber) posted that bridge on FB a couple years ago...don't remember where though.
Yep, it was a day trip we took because we wanted to ride part of the trail this is on. The trail goes from Norfolk, NE to Chardron, NE
-
Looks like the Valentine RR bridge. We drove hwy 20 across the northern part of Nebraska a few years ago. Absolutely a beautiful area.

You are correct.
-
From Amber's and my same trip as the bridge. There are only two of these in the state of nebraska so you have a 50/50 chance of getting the correct name.

You are correct. And I do agree it is a good name for falls.

Last one before I have to dig further into my storage.
This is in the Eastern part of Nebraska and is in a park near the Platte River.

Are there Pirates on the Missouri river Mike ?
-
That pic was taken during a CGOAMN trip. Laurie and Joe know where it was taken. Was hoping maybe someone else knew. I'll consider it a good submission if it had ya stumped.
-
I think the pirate ship was for sale on CL ?
Not sure where it's at now / then.
-
Sure looks like Mississippi but I can't place that bridge and dock.
-
I believe the pirates ship is just before the Minnesota River enters the Mississippi River. There’s a fuel dock there also. I bought fuel there when Joe, Nancy and I made our trip to downtown Minneapolis, it was the last year you could lock through to the downtown area. 2014
-
Watergate Marine ?
-
You sir are correct. Watergate Marina, just south of Ford lock and dam. The river gets suprising narrow up there, or maybe just seems that way after crossing the lake after the Hastings lock. Tim and I cruised around the marina a bit and took pics and video. Last I knew he offers cruises and such. Thought he has a Facebook page describing it. Bought it in St Louis.
-
This might be difficult for most
-
There's lots of sand dune's around Wabasha ..
-
I believe you, but, wrong state, and it’s not in Indiana either
-
Some where in Florida ?
-
Rhine River? Probably in the southern end where the hills start, Bavaria area??
-
It’s in South Dakota and the White I believe is chalk?
-
The bluff is the southern side, Nebraska, of Lewis and Clark reservoir. I visited my brother last week in Yankton. Thought the bluff looked awesome with the sun shining on it
-
Anyone know this one?

End of the peer (not sure if you would call that a Peer but whatever) in Hudson

Hudson WI. Bridge now.
Hudson WI. Bridge 1916
-
Yes that's it. Everyone calls it a pier. Technically it's an island as there is water all around it. I always thought it would nice if the city cleaned up the end of it. All you get now is biffies, dumpsters, and old concrete pillars.
-
Biffies? We stopped there once several years back. Appears to be similiar construction to the railroad bridge where they built ground up to shorten the bridge soon length.
-
Guess the spot? Lol

St. Croix river just north of Stillwater. And the answer to "Biffies?"
-
I'll bet those are bolted down!
-
Try explaining to your insurance agent how you hit a "Biffie" in your boat !
-
Guess the name of the bridge and the river.
Hint, the bridge repair is in St. Paul, MN
-

Can't figure out the spot your standing .. St.Paul ?
-
Smith Ave "High Bridge" Looking east.
-
Yes, the Smith Ave. Bridge.
-
it just seems odd that you would be standing in the “west end” of Saint Paul facing east looking at the “west side” of Saint Paul.
-
Had 6 kids in the boat yesterday. Anyone know where this is? I’d be REALLY surprised.
First hint: In WI.
-
How about for the second hint.... the picture?? ;D
-
That would help......

-
A channel into the St. Croix River in North Hudson, Wisconsin.
-
Nope. That is actually a dam in North Hudson. Can’t pass through. This location is on a lake. Farther north.
-
Not sure where your at .. But you need a bigger boat for all those kids !
Maybe something like a CV23 .. Just saying .. ;)
-
Super big hint: Near Minong WI.
-
Kimball chain of lakes, upper, middle, lower?
-
Nope
-
Gilmore lake.
-
That's it!
-
Many thanks to Google Earth, Wikipedia, and YouTube for the drone flyover. Never been there, but looks to be a nice lake. Something like 37 named lakes in the area, with 20+ smaller unnamed lakes. Was thinking the 23 would be better with all the hands on deck, but it looks like a 23 wouldn't make that passage between the two bodies if water.
-
23 wouldn't have fit through the "super cool tunnel". The kids loved the tunnel tour. Must have went back and fourth about 4 times through that thing. It is a very nice lake. Rented a cabin there for a week.

Nope.
First hint: Not a lake.
-
Troy park / St. Croix

Ding ding ding!

Last time I was there was 45 years ago !
Maybe 50 years ago ..
-
Guess the spot.
-
TI campround/cemetary
-
Correct.
Today launched the boat at Hastings and headed to Kinninnic at full speed until I realized that I was the only boat going fast. In the Kinninnic channel I asked a fisherman if the St Croix was under a slow no wake restriction. He answered 5 miles per hour all along the St. Croix. Idled 5 miles back to the Mississippi River and headed south to Treasure Island.
-
Wow, the water level is way high on the beach. Kini is a long way at 5mph, glad to see someone out enjoying it though.
-
Fall colors are just starting. Here is picture of the Hastings boat launch and more pictures of Treasure Island.
