I was just informed that I will be out of town the weekend of the boat show so I must retract my offer to man the booth. I will be working in Atlanta the entire weekend, not my idea of a good time. >:(

Will be a shame to not see Dave P's boat there, I wasn't around 40 yrs ago but I have to imagine his boat looks the same as the day he got it.

I agree. It's the tyoe if boat that people will say "that's the same boat we had when i was a kid". Same with Greggs old Trihull. That would have been perfect for the show too.

Thanks for the kind words about my V-153. If circumstances were different, I would show the boat. The boat is stored in Nerstrand, MN in a farm couple's pole barn. Their rent for the winter season is dirt cheap and I would feel badly asking them to both pull my boat out and put it back in.

I could help man and clean too but it sounds like there are a lot of volunteers for that already and none of my boats are of show caliber. If we didnt get a jet, I would have considered bringing the 175 as long as no one opened the engine bay.  :D

All of this is really great everyone!  Thanks so much for the support and great responses!

At this point, I have two boats committed for certain...

We have Jason's CV-16ss in metal flake green, and we have a returning member Jesse Gully bringing his Champagne and Beige metalflake CVX-20 Deluxe.  I would also like to consider Jason's V-174 as a great representation of the glastron line. I think that we have Jeff's CVX-18 as well.

I know that Scott's CVX-20 is an option as well, and we need to see about getting the interior back together, so we can look at that great boat as a back-up depending on the pit crew progress.  Jerry Sellner has offered his Corinthian and a 76 GT-160 as well.

This is a great start, a great, color spectrum, and a good representation of many of the designs and drive options.  I'm still open to other cantidates as well.  I'm waiting to hear what space we have and what our limitations are.

I'll be making a list of the people that are willing to man a booth, and I'll get that roster going asap.  I'll let you know where there are holes.  Obviously, Saturday from open to close is going to be the big day as well as the setup day.

Those of you that have resources, please beginworking on them...  We need to consider fabric to cover trailers that to not want to be displayed, banners, easels, pamphlets, etc...

Would anyone like to be in charge of any of these aspects?

This is going to be a great event!

Good to hear Brian. Looks like we are off to a great start.

I don't have a problem dragging the V172 down there too but would need a second tow vehicle and driver. If Jeff is willing to show his boat too it won't be a problem getting it out of the Glastron cave.

Here are the open hours of the show:

Thursday, January 19 ....12pm?9pm
Friday, January 20 .........12pm?9pm
Saturday, January 21 .....10am?9pm
Sunday, January 22 .......10am?5pm

I will for sure not be available thursday or Friday during the daytime. I would prefer to be there Sunday and can be there all day. That way i am hoping I can drag at least one boat back home with me.

I have Thursdays off from work and would be able to do that day if no one else want it. Also we need to know available set up times from the Mpls Convention Center. There must be at least Wednesday before the opening day for set up, plus Thursday morning before the show starts at 12 noon.

Tim

I think if you are willing to bring your CVX18 to the show, yours is a much better example than mine is .

Also I have to do a new axle on my trailer before it is moved.

So gets yours ready for the show and I will keep Gregg either tied up with double knots or in hand cuffs when you are not there.

I would not mind showing either one my boat. But it's all going to depend on how much snow we will have and if I can get to the garage to get them out. Last year would not have worked but so far this year is dry.

Don't worry Jason, I'll get your boat out one way or the other

Talked to some guys at Tanners when I went in there for some parts. Sounds like they schedule a time when you can bring your boats in. I guess it's REALLY organized. Same with bringing your boats home. A lot of the boats will be scheduled to be brought to the show 4 days before the start of the show. There is a place to wash the boats and trailers as you bring them in. Security is really good and they have never had any problems with hooligans.

My '72 GT-150 could be available. It was showed two years ago at the Wisconsin Wheels and Wings event and was a finalist. It was themed under the James Bond movie with a 007 movie poster and a history of the movie production was displayed with the boat. (Inside the boat a looping CD played the music from the movie!) Drew a lot of visitors.
