wondered if I could itemize parts values when asking for a complete motor sale ...
Mine's currently at Tiki waiting for a compression test
Would some of you guys indulge me on what you think parts are worth? Some of these are obsolete and not available ... at least that I can find ...
Carburetors (re-built last season) x 3 = $120
Cowling (faded paint, faded red/blue stripe) w/ top = $75
Distributor w/ plug wires = $200
Lower Unit/gearcase = $250
Powerhead/crankcase w/ flywheel (assuming low compression) = $150
Prop (aluminum, 19 pitch) = $35
Starter = $35
Switch Box = $75
Trim/Tilt Pump & Cylinders (one cylinder slight leak, needs seals - extra cylinder available, also needs seals) = $200
All of that adds up to $1140 ...
It would obviously take time to sell it off piece by piece, so should I feel comfortable asking $1000 or best offer with a firm low-limit of $800 for the working/running complete motor, even if it might have low compression ??
