Title: River camping this weekend Sep 3,4,5

Will be out camping maybe Tanglewood or the cove depends on where we can get a good spot.
BTW
The V249 is back in action !
And once again the world all makes sense

I will text you on Monday as I'll be out on the river all day. Plan to head up towards Afton for lunch, then maybe down south a bit as far as the locks. You can see the boat you helped get on the water with that throttle plate!

Yes, I had trouble with the electronic ignition at the meet so I ditched it for points and a condenser. And it?s never been very easy to get on a plane and I always kind of figured it was a carburetor issue, so I put the Edelbrock on that I got at a yard sale, gets up on plain like it should looks like the top speed is around 33

Not sure from the picture if they crashed on the beach or jacked it up to keep from sinking?    Maybe its the new way of reserving a good camping spot, just park a big POS there for the season?

I passed that boat too. Wondered if they beached when the water was higher and the St. Croix went down the days they were camping out. In any case, the St. Croix is not going to get any higher before winter and now is the time to pull it off.

Sometimes people park their big boats on the islands and ?squat? there all summer for free. We suspected that might be the case here.

It was there during the meet, we pulled in for a closer look, and it had what looked like fresh towels and ice chest on deck, like was occupied.

There are a couple house boats parked across from ?pier beach?. We go to that beach quite a bit with the boys. A guy is constantly bringing people back and fourth from the beach to his boat via a canoe. Pretty suspicious as they are not there long and come from all walks of life. Hmmmm.

Well I suppose that is one way around paying slip rental.   Not going to say its right, but you have to admire the creativity.   Curious if this falls under DNR, game warden, or maybe sheriff responsibility.   Or possibly people dont mind?
  Mo river cleans out squatters fairly regular.
