Old Gators never die
« on: August 31, 2010, 07:44:57 PM »
As many of you know we brought our '63 Winner to Red Wing thinking it would handle the river better than the FireFlite did last year.  Well It didn't make the parade lap. After we got back to the ramp Dottie and I tried to load it, but the tongue on the old Gator was rusted and instead of the boat coming up on the trailer, the trailer went in the river. Monday after we got back I decided the old pipe tongue had to go, so out came the torch and arc welder.  I finished it today. I still have to fix the motor we're going camping Friday (with the boat),

Jerry,  you done some Good work there on the trailer,  and I'm sorry I missed the trailer going into the river, I'd like to have a pic of that .. would have given me something to throw back at ya when you think about me getting lost goin to Muscatine.

Hey ole buddy,  I'm going to give you a boat, when you come this way you can pick it up,  it would be Just Right for you and Dottie, I've had it a few years, and I can't think of Anybody I'd rather give it to.  it's a two seater now, with a bullet proof transom,  5 layers of Kevlar blended to the hull, but you got to fix that old motor you have to put on it,  I'll do the rough work, and you can do the paint it requires ... what do ya think ?

The motorhome is always packed. I just say "ROAD TRIP!!"

I have so much to do already. There's all kinds of housework to get done, and I have a 13 1/2' ski boat with twin 35s I have to finish, and her 58 Impala to get new rear springs and a set of headers that are hanging on the wall to install, and the 48 Plymouth that's going to get a 360 someday, and the Glasspar Seafair Sunliner taking up half my garage, but I do have a 125hp powerhead with nothing to go on.  I need to sell something, that would help I'm running out of neighbors to store stuff at.  When it gets cold here OK would sound good.  I'm thinking.

Jerry,
How did you get it home?
Trailer went in the river doesn't sound good to me.

The winch stand rusted off at the bottom. The trailer already was in the river I guess.

Nice work Jerry. Looks like it was made that way. You have too much to do and should retire. Opps you ARE retired!

I think he meant 68, not 58, right?

Phat Phingers. 68 Impala Super Sport.

On the ESPN Poker board you can't send anything that starts with FU so ph is the new F.

I told Dottie about your Christmas Boat decorating. She thought that would be a nice trip. I need to make some room. Do I need to bring a trailer?

I think I found out why the winner quit. I have spark at the coil, but nothing at the plugs. I have had a rotor go bad on a V4 Johnson before, so I hope that's all it is.

Nope, no need to bring a trailer, I'll see this one is ready for the trip back home, and I got room for a couple guest in the Scimitar for the parade,  I haven't seen a date posted for it yet, but I'lllet ya know when it is going to be, but it's before Christmas, around November 1st .. I'll check on it
